i know this list isn't that great and will stand little of a chance in a tournament but it is being built for casual games. still i would like to know if there are improvements needed and how well do you think it will fare.

broodlord w/flesh hooks
genestealer retinue(6) w/extended carapace and flesh hooks
(mainly broodlord is there to have the stealers infiltrate so he doesn't really have anyhting)

warriors(3) w/extended carapace, adrenal glands(i), rending claws, scything talons
warriors(3) w/extended carapace, adrenal glands(i), rending claws, scything talons
(cheap synapse coverage that can at lend support to close combats, thought about leaping or winged but dont know if i want anymore points in them)

lictors(2)
(to tie down shooty units, help in escalation, and go after tanks)

hormagaunts(16)
hormagaunts(16)
hormagaunts(16)
(fast tie up units, would take spine gaunts but want the CC weapons and increased assault range)
genestealers(6)w/extended carapace
genestealers(6)w/extended carapace
genestealers(6)w/extended carapace
(small units to avoid getting all of them targeted)
(have considered 2 8's for stealers and then 4 12's for gaunts but dont know if that would help or not)

ravenor(1)w/ rending claws and scything talons
ravenor(1)w/ rending claws and scything talons
ravenor(1)w/ rending claws and scything talons
(can reach objectives and help gaunts in cc)

i dont want to use any monstrous creatures and preferrably no ranged weapons
im getting kind of sick seeing most nid armies with comparable shooitng to their assault potential, when i htink of aliens i think close combat monsters(although i miss the CC flyrant)
any suggestions?

Between a rock and a hard place

I'd give the warriors some ranged weaponry. It is unlikely they will reach assault, especially in small units, so some ranged weapons will mean they have some impact on the game at least.

I'd give Scuttlers to all your troop squads, just to give them a bit more speed.

I played a pure CC list back in 3rd, it was a fun army to play. Can't imagine playing one now because there are so many skimmer based armies in my local area, but that may be different for you.

Always nice to see someone going in a different direction. Kudos!

oh i still play against skimmer tau and eldar, but i figure it might be fun to play and another of the the group plays mc nids, and i like rending claws so i figure if i can get enough i might be ok. i've considered giving them deathspitters but dont really want any ranged weaponry, i htink if i can get them cheap and protect and/or hide them they shouldn't cost me the game although i am already ware they aren't going to win me it either. i have considered dropping ec for scuttlers but haven't tried it out yet, i dont have or want to spend the points for both but maybe if i use two units of 8

You will not be able to beat a good skimmer army. They have the mobility to avoid your fast troops and the fire power to wipe you from the table. If you face a lot of skimmer armies, your only option is to use a ranged Carnifex of some sort, and you'll need more than one, as one is a very easy target and can only target one skimmer per turn. This list can work against Marines, footslogging Necrons, etc., but maybe you should come up with a varient that you can play if faced with a lot of skimmers.
