Hi Guys Ok, so we know that Inquisitors take to the field in power armour, I assume its in the same power armour family as the Sisters of Battle rather then the type used by Marines because of the "Black Carapiece" that only a Marine can have / use. But what about Terminator Armour? Is it made specifically for the Inquisitor? or is it a standard pattern? If it is Standard, then how can that work.....a typical Inquisitor would be human sized, while a Marine is around 8 - 9 foot tall, so physically the armour would need to be smaller.....but what about the "Black Carapiece"? surely that interfaces with the Marines Dreadnaught armour in the same way as power armour? so again, does this mean Inquisitors get a different "type" of Terminator armour than Astartes?

To make matters even more confusing, they say in all the different fluff texts that terminator armor creation has all been lost since the techno age and what is out there is all there is....

No, I belive they can make Terminator armour, just the process is very slow because WH40K manufacturing isn't about efficiency, but more ritual!
THe fluff has changed over the years, in so much as science is now not so much lost but tied up in "red tape"...hence the slow technological advancement of man! I guess a game where humanity are veiwed as "plebs" by the other beings out there only has a limited shelf life.....
.....still, back to the Inquisitors!

Actually according the the Jes artbook Space Marines are roughly 8ft tall while in their armour. They had a full scale picture of one in their head office. That doesn't really help the debate here tho.

We're talking about the Inquisition... they can get their grubby lil paws on anything. Jokaero(SP) digital weapons anyone? I don't think it goes against the grain of fluff to allow Termey armor for Inqs. I don't think it's too much to think that the Inq might have gotten it from the AM on Mars or even requisitioned it from the GK or another Chapter.

No Chapter would allow an Inquisitor to "requisition" Terminator armour....its sacred, in fact so sacred that only certain marines may even wear it!
On the height issue, I kinda think its been done to death! Although good ol' Jes might say 8ft, other writers say bigger, so I guess go with what floats your boat!

"...Incredibly ancient, the secrets of their construction has long since been lost and each one is revered by the space marines and lovingly mantained by the chapter's techmarines..."

I'd say that the armour most Inquisitors wear is an inferior version of astartes. The astartes pattern armour has no been made in many centuries as the processes were lost. But that does not mean that the adepts on Mars would not try to recreate it. It just means its never as good as the classic product. And if anyone other than marines is going to get that kind of kit, its daemon hunting inquisitors who are often in situations more dangerous than the average marine. It wouldn't be practical in the game to represent Inquisitor's termie armour as inferior to astartes armour, unless you drop the 5+ inv.

Yeah but 40K fluff is so contradictory - like the bible only in 28mm scale. Still it may say that the skill has been lost on PG 12 but on PG 44 OF THE VERY SAME BOOK it says this of Terminator Armour [and dreadnoughts] "...Dreadnoughts and Terminator armour for example require RARE artificer skills. A recently founded chapter may take centuries to aquire such equipment..."
The rare part means it's still around. Trust one page or the other but you can't trust both I suppose.

The thing about 40k fluff is it almost always comes from an unreliable narrator. Remember the Imperium is pretty much insane, but even first hand stuff from Eldar and others isn't reliable (are they trying to mess with you or are they telling the truth?). Which essentially means anything can happen, given the right circumstances. Also keep in mind that there have been hypertech worlds discovered, like Adrantis Five, and who knows what crazy stuff they had (before getting Exterminatused or viral bombed).

Ok, lets be intelligent about this, and work from the basis of facts! Example, according to the Ultramarines fluff, the entire 1st company was wiped out fighting Tyranids....now, uless the Tyranids were really careful and didn't damage the armour ( ridiculous right? ) then the only way the Ultramarines could replenish the 1st company would have been to get more Terminator suits. Bearing in mind that the Ultramarines are not the only Chapter to have lost these suits it stands to reason that there must be a way of constructing new suits.
You're all correct in so much as the WH40K fluff being like the Bible ( mad and contradicting itself ). However, you'd imagin that GW would have the basic intelligence to work this small detail out.

Either way, I do believe it's all still able to be constructed - it just takes forever.
