I have a question that arose in a recent game.  If a unit shoots and destroys a unit, can it then assault a seperate squad?

This doesn't make sense to me, as I recall that a majority of units can only shoot and assault the same squad.

Thanks for answering, and if possible, could you provide a rulebook number?

Nope, unless you have the ability to shoot one unit and assault the other.

That's one of the risks you take if you're an assault type unit, and you choose to shoot first.

It can be just as hazardous if you don't wipe out the target through shooting, you might still kill everything within assault range.

Either way, no assaults for you!!

hmmm. very interesting. I played this weekend and my opponents assault marines destroyed my command squad in shooting, and then assaulted a line squad. Had we known the correct ruling, I would've won the game... I'll catch him next time.
