I was in need of a way to do really fine lining and lettering on some minis, and a friend suggested Gundam Markers.  As opposed to, say, Micron pens.

Has anyone tried these?  I am having trouble coming up with definitive info on them (although plenty of places sell them).  They make an ultre-fine set, which would seem to be the answer, but my friend has barely had a chance to try his out, and I was wondering if anyone else had any info on them?

Are they ink?  Paint?

Will they run if I spray a flat finish over them (I have had problems with inks doing that)?  What about if I paint a flat finish on?

Do they dry out fast (i.e. do I need to wait to use them until I have several models ready for it)?

Do the colors (other than black) show up when applied to a painted surface?  For example, will a white or yellow one show up on black paint?

Any info would be appreciated before I drop some cash on them...thanks

A new day, a new time zone.

I like using the chrome marker since it dries with an almost reflective finish. I think it's actually paint, and will dry out about five minutes after being applied. I've never had any problem applying a finish to them. You'll probably need a couple of coats to make a light color show up completely over a dark one.
