Hi. I've recently started playing 40k and decidet to make a Tyranid army. I've read some posts and the very good Carnifex quide in the articles section, but I thought it would be a good idea to ask for tips personally.

I haven't gotten many models yet, but I've worked out the basic idea for my army: I'm palnning on taking 2-4 carnifexes, both heavy support (with enchanced sences, venom cannon, barbed strangler and reinforced chitin) and elites (with enchanced sences and 2 TL devourers), a winged Tyrant (not sure what weapons to take. Seeing he's supposed to get close to enemy and has a good ws and initiative, talons and implant attack might be nice, but TLD devoureres with 12 shots seem very good too. What about biomorfs?), some warriors (leaping with cc weapons) and 1-2 Zoanthropes with synapse and warb blast. The remaining points would be used for gaunts and stealers (exact numbers depend on how many points I have left). Any idead for what biomorfs the units should have and what other, if any, units I'd need?

Well, it also depends on whether you are taking 2 or 4 fexes. If 2, you really have the beginnings of a number of different types of armies. (Swarm, balanced, stealer)
If you take 4, you will pretty much have a lite-Nidzilla army. (You can take up to 8 MCs.)

Tyrant, you will likely want one flying, so wings and Warp Field.
Taking 2xST or 2xTLDev are both good choices, depends on playing style and personal preference. They just target different types of units.
Toxin sacs are needed for both, and ES for the TLDev
The ST flyrant is a bit more flexible. +WS, Toxic Miasma, bioplasma, implant attack, Acid Maw... all have their proponents. Just don't take them all.
+WS and Toxic Miasma are only useful for opponents that have WS 5. (5&6 if you take them both.) Bioplasma and Acid Maw are only good on the first turn of CC. (unless you get into and out of multiple CC's)
Implant attack only helps if they have multiple wounds

For the HS Fexes, I actually prefer +Sv over +W, true, it does nothing against those AP2 shots, but it does a lot against everything else. It only takes one AP3 wound for the EC to be the best choice. And the enemy almost always ends up attacking with a bunch of AP 3/4/5/6/- weapons anyway.

Warrior brood should be at least 4-5.

As for more models.....
Heck the choices are just about all good.
Guants of any type, including gargs
raveners
rippers
stealers
lictor

could all fit into your army. You just need to be careful you understand their role, and their strengths and weaknesses. (and sometimes, strengths can turn into weaknesses. Like speed in a Nidzilla army)

Good LUck
