I have been thinking of running a list taking 6/6 man devastator squads with 3 ML and 3 HB followed up with some Las/Plas, a couple of tornadoes, assault troops to deal with the inherent vulnerability to assault, perhaps a Libby for some fury and a Master to hold them together. I am wondering have others tried this and is this a viable option?

Another idea was to take the trait and fill up the elites with devs and fill heavies with say 3 vindicators or other tanks. Not sure. I have lots of models and I am trying to use what i have to keep playing fresh.

Thanks

Club me. Ain't I cute?

I'd go with the second option. 6 Dev squads + Las/Plas will make a very boring game for both sides. 3 Devs in the Elites and A mix of Vindicators and Predators can be pretty interesting and effective though.

I'd like to see the 3 Vindicators, don't see them used too often and in a group of 3 they should last a while.

Threads should be like skirts: long enough to cover what's important but short enough to keep it interesting.

I personally like new dark angels with the auto-cannon/heavy bolter predators, or heavy bolter/las-cannon squads of devastators seperated into combat squads, a full Raven Wing Squadron, and a Deathwing Squad with 2 flamers, and the Ravenwing & Deathwing Masters.

Now I know that isn't what you were looking at exactly but I think it would be fun to play and damn effective.

Honour your Wargear is my favourite trait. It allows me to have a Dev squad and still keep my HS slots open for tanks. Besides tank hunting missile launchers are as good as lascannon and cost far less.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

Not to take this thread OT, but you can't have 2 hvy flamers in a Deathwing squad.  1 hvy weapon only.
