I was adding a bunch of items to sell on the site, and noticed

88-15 Temple Guard  $22 Retail
88-16 Temple Guard Command $25 Retail

Both listed under box sets on GW and both following the new 5 man rank box configuration.  I thought they only did that to Empire Greatswords so far.....

Old Temple Guard box of 10 = $45
2 boxes of new Temple Guard, for a total of 10 = $44
Command box gives an option that doesn't include buying blisters but adds a rank of 5.
To me this seems like a price reduction of $1 to buy the same 10 figures, but in increments...can't see much wrong.
Looking at these 5 man boxes it actually seems that most show a price reduction...or should that be stealth reductions?

The Increase Ogre Ninja knows no shame and scoffs at your attempt to show a stealth reduction. He knows that all will need at least 2 boxes of Guard and 1 box of Command, so he socks it to 'ya for $69 big ones USD. But don't think that he doesn't have a sense of humor, you got to see a 69 didn't 'ya?

I like the guy from the hellblaster with the "Oh my God, my head is going to explode because I paid $35 bucks for this?!?!" screaming look.

So, you now have the option of buying the rank and file models just 5 at a time, but if you buy them 10 at a time you save a buck. And that is an increase how? If you want the command, you spend another two bucks for the command options, which used to be in a blister of 3.

And people wonder why GW doesn't seem to take complaint posts on dakka seriously.

No, I have to see this as a move in the right direction...before I had to buy a box of 10 for $45, some blisters for the command set of 3 which cost me $20 more, which gave me a unit of 13 for $65, which meant placing a special mail order for the extra!! Now that sucked.
At least I'm now being sold to in quantities I need which ends up costing me less.

Now if you want to talk about prices that get me annoyed...old figures going up for no reason.

This moving to 5 man boxes, I see no down side.

Over the next two years nearly all of the old 10 man metal boxes will be replaced with a 5 man rank and file box, and a 5 man command box. A few more will be replaced with new plastics, such as the black orcs.
