Here is a pic of an Idea I was thinking of using for my Tau Honour Guard. I Dont have a back picture but I'm using a chaos marauder piece for a cloak. Let me know if you guys have any other ideas

This is a nice idea and well executed but your need to clean them up a little.

The flash and obvious left overs of the sprue gate are very visable on the helmet and the end of the pulse rifle. Just slice them off with a scalpel blade and your be set to go.

Nothing worse than missing some mould lines of bits of flash and not realising till you've started painting!

I did that myself the other day with a krieg trooper. Spent hours cleaning it up, washing it, building, and priming to to see a mould line in a really obvious spot i missed... doh!

EDIT- Actually If I were you and you wanted a more japanese foot soldier feel I'd remove the helmet (gun drone) and slice down the Tau head a little more so that the rim of the helmet is covering his eyes a little. These style of oriental hats often cover or just cover the eyes or face. Right now it looks a tiny bit too high.

This will also help to make it more like a hat and less like an item just placed on his head i.e a huge gun drone.

If you don't want to flatten the head, you can always use a hobby knife and dig into the little stub in the under part of the drone and make a cavity that the head can fit into better. But, lowering the "hat" relative to the eyes is probably the best way to go here.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Very good, I would add modelling putty or greestuff to place a curve on the underside of the hat in keeping with Tau fashion.

I would be inclined to add the space marine shoulderpad-cloths that you get on every sprue. Place them around the back of the hat as a sunscreen ala French Foreign Legion.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Nice to find a use for shield generators eh.
