  I'm looking at all the extra bikes and landspeeders I have laying about (got them out of several previous edition 40k boxes I went in on with people along different marine boxed sets I picked up at pretty good prices) and decided to do a Ravenwing list to have a bit of fun with  the things.

  Here's my initial 2000 pt list:

 Interrogator Chaplain on bike

Ravenwing attack squadron with 6 bikes / sgt. with power fist / 2 melta guns

Ravenwing attack squadron with 6 bikes / sgt. with power fist / 2 melta guns / attack bike with multi melta

Ravenwing attack squadron with 6 bikes / sgt. with power fist / 2 melta guns / attack bike with multi melta

Ravenwing attack squadron with 6 bikes / sgt with power weapon / two flamers


Ravenwing support squadron with 2 landspeeders / 1 assault cannon

Ravenwing support squadron with 2 landspeeders / 1 assault cannon

I would always pick the samuel landspeeder option. with the close combat jetbike-combination samuel still "only" got 3 strenght 4 power weapon attacks. not bad but I rather have a Armor 14 landspeeder with twin linked heavy bolter and twin linked assault cannon. when you got a lot of bikes with powerfists, i think you can do without the chaplain... It cost a lot of points and instead i would give one bike unit a banner. for 25 points the got an extra attack...

Its not logic that you pick 2 model landspeeder units with assault cannons... you should add 3 assault cannon landspeeders to your attack squadrons. this way you got more scoring units and you can devide fire power.....

well it really depends on what your fighting. it is the same points cost either way so having oneof each model could be handy. fighting necrons i would take the bike given how AV14 fairs against necron gauss technology.

 

Yep... The jetbike samuel can be better against sum enemies.. but when you field a few groups of bikes with a powerfist. you dont really need a S4 powersword HQ for necron. against lots of other enemies I like the landspeeder. with all the other landspeeders the enemy doesnt bother to shoot at a AV14 skimmer... and when you keep the AV14 skimmer upfront.. the enemy can fail a target priority test and shoot at your Av14 skimmer instead of the rest...
