Circle gets some kind of were-warlock. I hope the minis are cool!

The new Circle warlock reminds me of the Danu warriors from Confrontation. It sounds like he'll have his normal form, then his tharn ravenger form??

Skorne gets a wizard warlock with an angry pet ghost and a He Man Battle Cat unit.  Trolls get  drunken warlock.  Legion gets Ninjas and reindeer.

I've been describing it as a wicker zoanthrope ever since I first saw it.

Reminds me of the crap alien spacecraft from the 50's war of the worlds film (sans body). I should point out that I realy like crap 50's sci-fi. Those crap Dr Who bad guy-Tau Vespids were right up my street too.

Yeah, the similarities are astounding.

The rules are scary, btw. ROF 3 10" Arcane Strike? POW 10, but still...

And Witch Hunter (can fire when an enemy model casts a spell) is nice.

Again, POW 10 isn't going to do much, but if they're within 8" of the Woldwyrd
they're paying double fury or double focus to cast that spell, ANd they get
shot at.

Let' just hope its rules are better than it's looks.

If you force it  in your turn it will have three Fury to spend on boosted attack and damage rolls and with three dice an average damage roll is 21 points. That is five to eight points of damage depending on the Warlock and if you have two or even three of them you can start putting out 15 to 24 points of damage on a Warlock in its turn.

Thats average as well (depending on the Warlock) so a good roll and you could put the hurt on someone.

That said, I think the biggest effect of it is to deny areas to your opponent. Place them so they protect your Warlock or even a unit and then make your opponent either have to deal with them or avoid them.

Awww Malfred, don't be offended- there's no need to defend you true love with a bunch of silly sea creature excuses.  Suck it up- the minis look very similar and serve a similar fluff purpose.  Inspiration is likely the source of the similarity, and it's not like GW's guilt free in that department

Nah, I see it, but honestly, it's kind of an obscure reference for a sculptor to spontaniously come up with for a magic spewing construct...etc.

EDIT:
I should add that I meant "for the sculptor to spontaniously come up with for something identical in purpose to that which a sculptor/designer for an influncial game did spontaniously years before"  but that quote reads pretty bad, eh?
