How about this one: Remove the elite fex option. Instead add: Synapse Node 35pts. A Carnifex with a synapse node becomes a synapse creature, a carnifex with a synapse node may be taken as an HS or elites choice. This makes no difference to the carnifex capability, opens out weapons options and makes nid players pay through the nose for elite fexes (which is why synapse is highly priced). Nidzilla players have to find 105pts for the surcharge for elite Carnifex lists, but can now freely outfit their monsters. This is fair as what makes the elite cap so nasty is because it forces players to take cut down, and therefore far more cost efficient carnifexes. I would not fear six venom cannon carnies so much simply because of the points cost to them. Other changes are needed to fix broken weapons and options, and many of the creatures too but this single rule fix is a minimal elegant change that brings carnies back in line.

The idea behind this is good, but it'S pretty much "write fluff for the rules", because fluffwise, carnifexes shouldn't be able to have the synapse power. Moreover, the clearly superior elite choice would be obvious pretty quickly and either the elite-carnifex or the tyranid warrior would reign supreme (I guess the first).

or just say that two twinlinked sets of weapons still count as just one twin linked weapon. Of course that revererses the ruling in the faq, but hey... would that really be the first time? But honestly GW won't change it... not until the new tyranid codex (whenever that might be)

Hmmmm.... for 35 points I don't have to worry about IB anymore? And I can now put EC or RC on the elite dakkafex?
I don't think you want *all* of the TMC's to have 2+ saves, do you?

Why don't they just get rid of elite fex's all together. That solves the problem. Really though, MC's are horribly underpriced (especially when you look at their ablities vs. a Dreadnoughts).

Why don't they just get rid of elite fex's all together Yeah, everyone who wanted the new carnifex kit has already bought one, no need to still give them good rules. Agree with that, btw. Greets Schepp himself
