Not sure how many folks remember the earlier work on the French game Hell Dorado, but I just found the site again and was overjoyed to find great pics of the four factions!

Captain Vargas' crew is very nice, but I think the first group of demons gets my vote, but then the Arabs are superb too ...

I know very little about the game, its background or anything like that, but more great French sculpts are always nice to see!

I agree, I have no clue about the game, only rough guestimates about it's background (based on the name & the figures) or much of anything else, but I *do* know those are some freaking awesome sculpts! I caught a the Captain Vargas faction via pixelgeek's review site earlier this week (I think), but seeing all four: WOW. Fantastic work.

come extremely creative sculpts... lots of imagery that GW has already borrowed, in particular, the "Chaos" faction... I see nurgle, daemonhosts, Khorne and mutants all represented.

I recall the last thread about helldorado and it mostly boiled down to everyone talking about how awesome and disgusting that demon chick with the flayed skin was. I love the sculpts and I'm curious if anyone has seen the rules. Also these minis have a serious Diablo and Diablo II feel. Really dark and gritty.

I have to say that I want to see more. Here's to hoping they will have a english site.

The second group look like something from Mordhiem. Very intresting look to all of the armies. The guy, in the fetal position, with the maggots is disgustingly cool.

I'm really intrested in seeing what the fluff is like.

I would also agree about looking like something out of Diablo and D2.

I might just get that succubus and imp for my WOW friend 'cuz he's a warlock and I'm sure he'll enjoy getting them as a fully-painted gift. I might have missed info and can't read french, but when will these be released and where will they be released (i.e. will any US game shops or online stores getting them or will I have to order overseas)?

TGN has been posting the new photo releases as they appear on the Hell Dorado site and one of our readers has been providing translations from the French site as well.

I like a few of the sculpts - mainly the "Conquistador" types, and that armoured cat from the Arab faction.

here's my first post out there, I'll try to help you for Hell Dorado just because I was in a demonstration (yes I'm French, stop laughing of me !)

so for the demons the creatures are damned of Sloth and Anger, and have very differents roles than GW's one. so in the future we'll see the five others sins, and after maybe larger deamons for the sins...

the miniatures won't be realesed by Asmodée but by retalers, maybe on the Web but nothing sure... this will be a problem for French customers too, 'cause we all don't have an Asmodée retailer everywhere.

in fact the gameplay is really cool, and models hurts my eyes... so I'll play demons...

(ps: sorry for my English, I do my best !)

Someone responded to a few comments I made over at TGN and said that Asmodee will have a booth at Gencon. That may be their North American release. I will definately be picking up a box of their westerners and maybe a few individual items, as well. Especially if they have that merc available.

Welcome to Dakka Dooloo, and thanks for the recon. Cool to hear the other 5 sins will be represented, I honestly had no idea that these two factions were Sloth and Anger, and I may have to disagree with some of the sloth = bugs / decay / giant muscle demons ideas ... but still dig the sculpts all the same I took a look at the translated model rules and they seem very detailed per character, ala Confrontation or Warmachine, which is nice given how few models each band is.

And that's good news Redstripe, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing American coverage of the game as well as how the models stack up in the metal. Any idea of the price? I saw 40 GBP per faction box, which is about 2x what I'd want to pay, but perhaps I'm mistaken.

well, as already said, it's coming out the 26 May but for 39.90? for the miniatures and 30? for the rulebook.

by the way the basic rules will be legally downloadable (but in French !) in the next few month on hell dorado website. and yes the rules are very detailed, and basically made from Confront' or Warmachine.

as the guy from asmodée said "we don't really make a brand new game system, we simply take the best of all Wargames to create just a very cool and simple game !"

for having see and touch the miniatures, all I can say is they're approximatly 30mm, and really really detailed. they're even better that Rackham's ones, just because they're good made. they are especially do them to don't fall on the table...

and the table: its very simple , one complete table is 70x70cm and the terrain's elements are very important. just because you fight in Hell ! so you can burn, be torn apart be frozen... :-) so, I think you need to have the rules to make your table to be sure that it will be playable...

Looks like I'm going to be using the Google translater to take a look at the rules when they come out.
