Oh that is just plain mean...  And here for about 26 seconds I thought GW was actually following through in a timely manner on their promise to produce FAQs/errata.

Sigh. They really need a FAQ/errata to kill the Falcon rush.

Basically all they need to do is remove the 12" loophole where you can still fire weapons but count as moving fast (glancing hits only).

Make the player choose between moving over 12" or more and getting the benefits of glancing only or moving less than 12" and being able to fire weapons.

If it was either or, then the Falcon would be a balanced unit for the points.

Sigh.

If they got rid of Extra Armor for Eldar (spirt stones) it would work fine.
When you get a stunned result, next turn you'll probaly be able to blow it up, unlike now where it just keeps moving.

The holofield needs to be reworked to function as follows: After rolling D6 + weapon strength, roll a D6. On a 1-3, the shot misses. On a 4-5, the shot is a glance and on a 6, if the shot had enough power to penetrate, it is a penetrating hit! Horay!

Of course, what will happen is GW will raise the cost of the Falcon to 200 points base, and all shots will now immediately be rolled on the penetrating table (to stay in line with the "fragile" fluff of the Eldar) with 2D6 instead of the glance table, to "balance" the issue.

Some might say the whole unit/codex/game/system/company needs to be reworked.

I mostly lurk, its just safer that way. Oh but the things I have read....

Skimmers shouldn't get special glance-only treatment to start with, cept maybe dark eldar skimmers.  They already can fly over things, and that's bonus enough to balance the destroyed with immobilized thing.

It's crap, that's waht.

Do you mean 2 D6 (and take the highest) or 2D6? Because if it's 2D6 then they'd need to tell you what do if you roll over 6. I think that on a 7+ the Super Catastrophic Damage rule should kick in - the Falcon suffers Super Catastrophic Damage which makes the Farseer cry so hard the entire army explodes.

What can I say?  People keep complaining that Specialist Games don't receive enough support, but from where I'm sitting they seem to have a far superior ruleset and rules support than the "core games."  Now, if they could just get some more miniatures support...
