Yup I've arrived. For the first week or so I was walking around Red China marveling how it was just like Japan. Huge Blade Runner buildings everywhere, impossible traffic, mad gaijins trying to make their fortune and skinny girls who love them... Yup. Japan. That's till I got my computer hooked up today. Blogger cannot be found. Wikipedia cannot be found. And I don't even want to try looking for the really bad stuff. Anyway there is some sort of wargaming club here and I hear they have one 40k player. Anyone else want to join the 2007 Red China National Championship? Bragging rights for 1.3 billion people are at stake!

Greets Schepp himself Same thing I was doing in Guyana, working for my rich uncle. The pollution is awful. I've not seen a blue sky yet, most days I can't see the buildings down the street through the smog. Though at night it's kind of pretty with the neon reflecting off the haze. I'll be here for the olympics, not looking forward to them, the whole city is going to shut down. To fight pollution they'll just close all the factories and ban people from driving.

China just admitted to blocking Flickr, too, so you may not be able to see some of the stuff in the modeling section. Driving is for chumps; get a bicycle!

Heh. Ya know what Alex? This is some sweet irony going on here. You get blocked from veiwing all sorts of stuff there, basically nearly anything that isnt state sanctioned. A pop up blocker of sorts if you will. I see the irony because of the post you made regarding pop up blockers that forced the EzNazis to nuke the original wasteland from orbit.... Perhaps Kyoto will singlehandedly start world war three due to pop up blockers? (Sorry man, not trying to pick on ya, but you know you will never live the destruction of the wasteland down... )

I'm wondering how long it'll take China to block the OT Zone. Hell, I'm amazed it isn't blocked already.

China definitely has its own super-firewall. Ithink it is called, "China's Great Red Firewall" or something like that. Google , working for their government, basically locked off huge sections of the internet to chinese computers so people can't search things that even smell anti-communism.

Posted By Waaagh_Gonads on 06/17/2007 12:25 AM Are any other wargaming sites blocked KK? At work the helpful Queensland Government blocks links to warseer and alot of direct links to photo storage, flickr especially. That's awesome man. Did you make it or find it? Whichever the case considered it nicked. In return you get the much-coveted Kyoto Award. All of wikipedia is blocked, all of the blog hosts (though not blogs with their own domain), Flickr and pbase seem fine, so does exboard. Dakka was blocked for a night but came back. It's better in some ways than it was in 2002 but the complete blocks on wikipedia and blogs are really annoying. From what I hear there are 2 lines of defense standing between me and HOT HOT TANK ON PROTESTER ACTION. One is my friendly neighborhood ISP who are required by law to black certain things and sometimes go above and beyond. Then there is the Great Firewall of China, a handful of servers all traffic must pass through and according to scuttlebut 30,000 people employed to censor traffic. Much of it is automated though. I did an experiment looking for the afrorementioned T on P action and got results, for like... twenty seconds. Then red Xs and pages not found. The US's new Memorial to the Victims of Communism got the same result. pr0n is also out of question.
