My plan for this army is to let the scouts be the only units on the board and deep strike every thing in. But with 14 assualt cans things can change.

Like the title says I dont play much, so any c & c would be help to me.

Careful when you DS the 'speeders. The FAQ on GW's website says that 'speeders count as moving more than 12" when they DS, so they will not be able to shoot on the turn they come in.

50/50 army because if you faulter on DS. You are done for the rest of the game. Thou you might be able to move units in the area you need them most. It could be a uphill battle fast if something does not land correctly. IG army I am making now, well lets just say that this army would die so fast its not even funny. If you deep strike with in 4d6 of one of my units. I get to take a free shoot at you with my demo tank that is counted as not moving. Each time a unit deep strikes in, I get a chance of a free shoot with str 10 ap 2. If you get two close to my army, I get a chance to hit your two times ie two free shoots.

When I play my fast mobile Space Marine I always have speeders and scouts.

Speeders I never deep strike as they are useful from Turn one for being able to reposition quickly to lay fire or support a section you think needs some extra assistant.

My typical setup for the scouts is 2x 5man squads with 1xmissile, 2xsniper, 2xboltgun in each squad. If I have points to spare then i give the other two scouts a sniper as well.
I always keep them at the back line to give anti-troop support to anything that is advancing.

Although I personal don't like the risk of deep strike and never do it myself I would say that the idea of using the scouts to be forward teleporters is a great idea!

Personally if you use this tactic, I would suggest you drop all the heavy weapons and make them into close combat scouts with teleporter and infiltrate them (if possble) behind something that blocks line of sight. At least then you have a forward CC team thats cheaper, can give a few extra attacks in close combat if they get assualted and can't be seen if you hide them.

I get the impression you kinda like assualt cannons hehe, nice choice against troop based armies such as the Tau and imperial guard, you may suffer though against some vehicle based armies

So if I fight a horde army I should not DS the termies and just use them as walking firing units but if I fight a low model armies I should DS the termies?

The speeders will most likely not DS due to their fragile armour.
