Pretty straight forward, you shoot the daylights out of everything ont he board. Whirlwinds and Tornados are for crowd control, and tornados grab objectivs. Commander is obviously for Ld and counter charge.

 

Anyway to squeeze more efficiency out of this? 3 whirlwinds too much?

Not enough counter charge IMHO. I'd drop a las/plas and tornado and get an assault squad. Also, one of those devs would be better of as infiltrate/HB. Should leave enough points for halo for the commander (or atleast combat shield).

Yeah, i was thinking the same thing. Maybe even just drop a few marines from the las plas squads and give the commander an IH.

the whirlwinds are good for use against hidden anoying targets like tau suits that can JSJ. One isnt enough to threaten them, you need multiple templates.

Maybe one less WW and tornado and give the commander an assault squad to roll with. that may be a good idea as it gives him a lot more punch..

As someone who plays against marines, have you given thought to iniflatrate for some of those tac squads (whatever the trait is). This would allow you the ability to redeploy some units in the infiltration phase to better get fields of fire vs. you opponent's likely movement areas.

good idea, the trait is see but dont be seen. it gets a bit pricey, basically the 6 man las plas goes down to 5 but gains infiltrate.

not painted yet, still working out the kinks. but my pod army is fully painted. I have to drag my butt to an RTT with you guys again. I dont have to go out boozing it every friday night. You have been tearing it up this season, well done.

One minor tweak would be to exchange 4x MLs for 4x HBs and use the points to make one SQD infiltrate. I think having one unit of 4x HBs is useful in its own right - having the points to make one unit infiltrate is a bennie.

Alternatively, I think you could drop one Whirlwind. If you did this, I would recommend dropping one unit of 4x MLs as well. Replace these 2 units with 2 6-man units with 3 HB's and add Termie Honors to your Commander.
