Thought I would get some opinions on the Vanquisher I have (mildly) converted.  The tank is only primed and some of the smaller pieces still need to be added to make it nice so please don't judge me on that.  Thanks in advance for your opinions no matter what they are.

Well, there are two options I know of--you can either buy a second sprue of tank wheels, or you can use plasticard tubes to custom-cut the length.

I like the Landraider treads. Wish I had thought of that when I made my cityfight Demolisher of Doom--I ended up shaving a milimeter off the side of each tread to make them fit just right.

Do you plan on creating custom-built track guards?

In most places I used a second set of wheels (cut down in width) and glued to the original set. This gave the right space for the Land Raider tracks.

The barrel is simply (and obviously) two barrels spliced together.  None of the tasks were very difficult.

I am considering custom track guards but haven't figured out a good way to make them.  Ideas would be appreciated.  I wanted the tank (which will be a Commissar's Vanquisher) to stand out on the battlefield from the other Russes.

To give it a more 'vanquisher' feel I'd taper down the tip of the cannon on an angle like this.... ---> / so that it matches the forgeworld one a bit better.

Yeah, that would give it a Stygies Pattern look.  But I prefer the Gryphonne Pattern more.  Purely personal preference.  Thanks though.

Well, the track guards are easy enough--get a second set from BWbits and splice them together--cut out the inside parts on both to form an exaggerated hump.

The track guards leave a lot of wide open flat space--space you'll probably want to fill with aquillas, rucksacks, and the like--If you can find an old set of tank crew, that'd be awesome.

You may want to look into plasticard tubing--you might be able to beef up the diameter of the base of the turret if you find the right sized stuff. Plastruct makes a wide range, so you can probably find the right one for the task. That should allow you to mimic the Gryphonne IV look a little better.

Good Luck!
