These are the first in a series of custom Heavy Gear conversions. The idea is that they are teams in a futuristic gladiator arena, with different themes for each team. Think one part mad max, one part Spartacus, and one part The Warriors.

The models have a very static pose by default, they are pretty much all standing stock still feet spaced apart. The conversion work will be reposing the models in more dynamic poses, giving them hand to hand weapons, and theming them.

First up is a team based on sort of a Legion of the Damned feel, black armor and flames with bone work. The first model of this group is mostly complete, I was considering doing a work in progress series for one of the other models if there is much interest.

More pictures are available in the Work in Progress section of the gallery on our web site.

Very nice Mods.
Very much reminds me of Battletech's Solaris VII Arena Mechs.

Good work

Ok, a couple of samples below, and I've got pictures of the first finished team here:

Love the flames! Well painted. I don't know the models, but they are neat and I like the idea of of some "The Warriors" mixed in.

I would love to see you drill out the barrels and on the black armor you have a "soft" painting style that takes away a little bit from the angular-mech-like feel of the models. I think a harder line would be more appropriate to the form. It's great painting in general, so if you like it, run with it.

Don't set your mind to one side.
