I know what I want; the question is whether such a thing exists.

I'd like a paint pen fine-tipped enough to do the recessed lines in, e.g., an Eldar grav tank.  Sharpie makes a permanent marker that fine, but I'm very wary of using such on (plastic) models, as it would likely be forever.

Anyone seen anything like that?

i have seen paint pens @ A.C. Moore & Micheals craft stores with a pretty fine tip . i don't know if they're water based though.

This is not exactly what you want, but I use archival ink pens like this:

point size 005 and 01 work fine for the lines on my Tau vehicles and Battlesuits. When I miss and it leaves the grooves I can wipe the ink off with a damp towel or my finger. I haven't tried to remove the ink from the recesses though so it may be just as bad as a sharpie. I don't think so, since I can remove it from surfaces reasonably easily.

I haven't seen one quite fine enough at my local Michaels, shrew, but I'll call around a bit.

Interesting, Lamba - I'll have to find one of those and give it a try.
