Given how a significant portion of my Chaos army (Cultist heavy Alpha Legion) will soon be obsolete, I figured now is the time to start a new army. I chose WH because very few people in my area play them, and they have a nice feel about them. However, not really having the time or resources to strat the army from scratch, I'm looking to see how far I can go on my existing models.

My query is this. Can I get away with using CSM Raptors as Seraphim? How about plain old CSM as allied marines (perhaps they are SM who are equipped to infiltrate CSM areas)?

I would have thought it would be fine, but I thought I'd better get a consensus opinion before I repaint my models.

You could make an army of corrupted WH. That'd be pretty simple, then.

Might just do that. But I really don't have the time to extensively convert the Sisters. Thank goodness Spikes = Chaos for GW, I'll just cut up a few cocktail sticks and splash them around a bit.

You can use either of the Inquistional Codexes to "Counts as" up quite the nasty little Chaos cult army.
And considering they can ally with each other...

Want to use cultists? Use the rules for Zealots.
Uber tough Chaos Marines? Grey Knights.
Death cult assassins? Death cult assassins.
Apostle? Tweak an Inquistor.

The only thing you really lose is Daemons - and depending on hoiw you built the list - you STILL may be able to get a demonhost...
Or use arcoflagellants to represent something...

You could probably get a solid chunk of your army to fit quite handily...

Also remember, if you start with Marines you can add allied Sisters of Battle, but if you start with Sisters you can not have allied marines. If you have no units that use Sisters, ie. only storm troopers etc., you can have allied marines though.

It makes little sense. I don't see why having marines shoulder to shoulder with Sisters is suddenly over powering. God forbid an army severely lacking long range heavy weapons in troop squads should be able to get a few lascannons or heavy bolters.
