Found over at Warseer:
Dark Eldar will not be re-released for some time, as they are in the early design phase.

Link to thread

Necrons are apparently relatively close to a re-release, although I imagine it will be a minor re-working a la Tau Empire.

This may be old news to some folks, but I hadn't seen it before.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

Thanks for posting! I don't troll the warseer forums so it's always nice to get the relevant links over here.

So ... dunno if the Warseer thread o' doom has these, but what I got from the Bell of Lost Souls was:

- Replacement of WBB with Feel No Pain USR
- Increase in the Toughness of Warriors and Immortals
- Removal of Phase Out and Res Orbs

That's what I got, maybe WS says more. I always flounder amidst all the chatter over there

- Salvage

Those changes will go a long way to make Necrons less likely to induce comas in opposing players.

I'm looking forward to these changes.

This is the one I'm most looking forward to.  I always hated the idea of Schrödinger's Model, not knowing whether or not it was there.  It should really help to streamline play with this army.

I hope they toss in a few more units as well, and make Pariahs worthwhile.  They're such a cool idea, but simply not effective.

Hmmm if Necrons do get the Feel No Pain rule it will be easier to kill them in CC w/ out worrying about how many will get back up buy if they are increasing the Toughness of the Warriors and Immortals....that's a bit of a problem if they don't also change there points. T5 troops w/ Feel no Pain for 18 points?......not so nice

You flatter me. But really, I'm just an ordinary guy. I put my pants on the same way anybody else does: I put a gun to the head of my manservant and bark Russian military commands at him until the poor blighter either figures it out or watches his brains exit his forehead.

I hope Pariahs become immune to Psychic powers and have a "null bubble" since all Untouchables are listed in the books as having an aura like ability that makes Psyker powers cease.

All they are is enhanced untouchable Culexus Assassins...

Mh... Without Phase out (so you don't have to worry about necron numbers) and maybe feel no pain for periahs they don't look so bad.

Looking forward to those changes. I hope for some new troop types, though, or, at least, that they are all viable now.

And plastic Immortals!

- Removal of Phase Out and Res Orbs
Which as they have just released a  new model of a Necron Lord w/ Res Orb makes a whole lotta sense...

Good point, but with about 1 hypothetical year 'til C:Necrons II hits, they can get some money out of orby there (who may be a trial or older unreleased sculpt anyway).

This is total conjecture, but they want to make the eevil robots even nastier?  Keep res orb but make it cause FNP to work all the time

Um....they do things all the time that make no sense.  They also just released a chaos lord in terminator armor in metal for Medusa V, who is now discontinued because of the new plastic kit....

I'm sure they're getting rid of the res orb to help all those hobbyists who want to have their Necron Lord carrying a shiny ball but don't like having to pay pts for an expensive piece of wargear they don't want.  Not every single little doo-dad needs to have rules!  Just use counts-as!!

That's why I never look at an opponent's dead models.  I don't wanna change the outcome.

If, in between turns, I open up a necron, will I find both a dead cat and a living cat?

Nice to hear that the quantum nature of the Necrons will soon(?) be over. Particulary, because the orb caused more questions game-wise than have been answered by the FAQs.

Necrons with T5 and feel no pain are tough. Do they get a downside for this?

I know for an absolute fact that this claim is false. The Dark Eldar model range is well beyond the pre-design stage.

I will be absolutely shocked if the Dark Eldar codex does not come out very late in 2008 or very early 2009.
