I love the ESDK train: http://www.dakkadakka.com/CommunityForums/tabid/56/forumid/56/tpage/1/view/Topic/postid/74848/Default.aspx ... but building one would obviously be way beyond me (neither got the time nor the skills). ... so I figured I *might* be able to build the train from the European WD334, page 63 (winter gaming table with a scratch built Imperial armoured train) instead. Anybody got a link to a page with more info regarding the 40k train in question??

28mm is roughly railway O scale. It might be possible to get a cheap 30s or 40s locomotive and build it up with tank or CoD Manufacturism parts.
I look forward to seeing it.

> Well, if you're rich. It's a cool piece - but I don't like the train itself. The EDSK, the GW Apocalypse and the Necromundicon ( http://ironhands.com/train.htm) ones are all much better. I am building an Imperial armoured train myself (with parts from an Aliens Armored Personnel Carrier 1/35 Halcyon kit) but thought I would make it more gothic with a few ideas stolen from the GW Apocalypse train.

So Necromundicon still exists! AWESOME! You made my day with this flash from the past that is still ticking.

EDSK is a brilliant modeler who's gifted these boards with his insight over the years. He's also an engineering student, which makes him supercool since it makes him like me.

Not sure if this is the train you want, had to do a lot of digging but I finally found it. Someone on WIP built this... click meOne of the awesomest conversion/scratch builds I've ever seen for this game ever. Maybe it'll give ya some ideas.
