Per Steinrep at 40Kfightclub -

So at round 1 I found out that someone had recieved the missions ahead of time and modified their army to fit. This upset me a little that we weren't fighting on even ground but nothing I could do about it. So this time I went to my little birdies to see if I could find the missions as well. They reported back today that these are the mission. Now, they might be fake but they were able to know the missions ahead of time for round 1 accurately as well. Anyways here they are for anyone going. Imp guard beware!

Mission 1: The Golden Ticket

Objective: Capture the Ticket
Details:
1) 12" Deployment zones
2) All Models count as being fearless (No Lines of Retreat)
3) Deep Strike, Infiltrate, Random Game Length
4) Controling the Ticket - uncontested contact with a scoring unit. Ticket can be moved up to 6" per turn and may not be put in a transport. Ticket in impassible terrain to vehicles so no putting a Landraider or some else over it.
5) Massacre is no enemy scoring unit is within 12". Solid in 6", Minor if in control, Tie if no one controls it.
6) Up to 4 additional points points can be scored.

___________________________
Mission 2: Hard Days Night

Objective: VPs
Details:
1) There are no Deployment zones and round 1 Assault phase is skipped
2) Players take turns deploying entire army (everything, including things that would normally be deep struck or summoned; models can not be placed within 6" of an any model unless there is no where else to put them)
3) Preliminary Casualties - Roll a D6 for each unit and Vehicle. Units that roll a 6 take D6 wounds with normal armor saves aloud. Vehicles that roll a 5 are shaken in turn one or roll a 6 are stunned on the first round.
4) Night Fight, VPs, and Table Quarters
5) Massacre 2001+VP difference, Solid 1,251-2000, Minor 251-1250, Tie less then 250 difference.
6) 4 additional points possible

__________________________________________
Mission 3: Doom, Despair, and Agony on me

Objective: VPs
Details: Straight Up VP Battle.
1) VPS, Table Quarters, Deep Strike, Infiltrate, Escalation
2) Same Scoring system as above
3) 4 additional points possible

Wow. My Templars got a huge boost in the first mission. Fearless? Yeah I'll take that. That means auto pass my righteous zeal tests.

Round 1 and 2 scream Nidzilla. Looks like the stand and shoot marines are shelved and the TMC's are making the trip to Springfield.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly.

Not sure I can pull off more than a minor win against Mech Eldar in any of those missions though.  Pretty much every way I slice it, in all 3 of thsoe missions, Mech Eldar vs. Nidzilla is a draw...

I would think with everything being fearless you would lose rightous zeal? Mission 2 seems a little to advantageous for a lot of armies IMO. Especially MC lists.

So do spirit stones machine spirit nullify this because if so these effects are a beneifit to the eldar air force and gimps marines and gaurd.

Well, these could be the missions but if so it is not consistant with the idea at GW about this which was to prevent any single army from too much favoritism. Mission 2 does seem like it would rely on 1st turn a little too much.

The Eldar air force is going to have enough problems with every meltagun/plasmagun toting human (genetically enhanced or not) deploying 6 inches off the port bow.

Maybe if they get first turn they might stand a chance other wise move your fast skimmers 24 to relative safety. I know I for one will pray for a first turn oppurtunity.

Orion

I take it you did not play the 2nd mission of the 'ard Boyz Rd 1.  That significantly favored center armies.

As the codex states he can only arrive by possessing one of the listed models you will have to destroy one.

My questions have more to do with deployment in round 2.  Depending on the wording of having to deploy away from other units, it might not be possible deploy any units inside (or even within 6"  of a transport, dedicated or not.

If you think you are too small to have an impact, try sleeping with a mosquito.

Malice I think it favored troop selections more than anything which all armies have access to in a build, imho very different.

Orion - it signficantly favored HTH armies ('nids, khorn, orks, Witch cult, etc). Instead of having to cross through any firing lanes, you were able to just simply come on and the majority of times assault. And there was no ability to protect from it. Genestealers and khorn beserkers for example coming on board is far better than a couple squads of Guard, marines, necrons, etc. Against Witch cult with raiders, you were nearly guaranteed an assualt without any return fire possible before the assault. There was in the worst case a 10" safe zone in the center of the board if they rolled a 1 on their fleet and did not have 12" charge.

Greg you forgot the 2-3 inches you get from deploying from the raider. The safe zone vs wyches was only 4-6 inches wide.

Hey Paul - You are totally right. I had thought of that earlier, but a shiny metal objective bounced by desk and it was too much to resist going after it. I was wondering where that extra distance went too.

Eldar has Eldrad, no worries for mission two. I can't even think of how I would change my eldar army at all to take advantage of this leak.

My list is staying the same. I just have to organize my models though after playing 20,000 pt and 5,000 pt apocalypse battles.

Righteous Zeal can't be ignored since it is a special rule that Templars have to follow. It really is no different than a chappy lead squad....it's just this time all my units will auto pass their zeal test instead of just the Chappy lead squads.

Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

Later in the thread....

OK, here's some additional info.

Scenario 1:
Ticket starts in the exact middle of the board.

Scenario 2:
6" away from ENEMY units, not ANY units. Also, there is no set deployment order, you can put out your units in ANY order.
Night Fight is first turn only.

Scenario 3:
Uses the 18" triangular deployment zones

....on round 2, no set deployment order is a great equaliser...assuming you have lots of scoring units with plenty of cannon fodder that is.

I think GW deserves some props for fixing this though. At the Michigan Qualifier at least they called the store and authorized the store to give out an extra $150 worth of prize support to people who hadn't seen the scenerios ahead of time. Although they did this by not making 40kfightclub members eligable but dakka members could win which doesn't seem right - since it was posted in both spots. But just the fact they they were trying to "make right" is a big step in the right direction. I assume they did this for the East coast qualifiers as well, since I guess some of the East Coast boards had it up before us and included the name of the person who leaked it.

I was curious to see what's been posted on the Kommandos forum and lo and behold, that may have been the source of this leak. Full-page mission sheets with pretty pictures to match, all there. Posted Oct. 12.

Now, it was uploaded by someone in a club near me, he probably got it early since I think one of the club's regular stores had the tourney (but I don't think he's the type to purposely leak this), and one of the purposes of the Kommando group is to keep club communication open. But, since it was posted the same day as the forum post, I'm just sayin'.
