... Mongoose has the Drakh Fleet Book and Fleet boxed set as due out in April.  It will be interesting to see what Mongoose does for their first original ship concepts and miniatures.

The first? I thought the Dilgar were the first, or did those Dilgar ships appear in the show?

Drakh eh? Shadow allies, I'm curious already!

No.  The Dilgar ships did not appear in the show.  The Dilgar ships (like the rest of the line) were produced by Agents of Gaming for their B5 game several years ago though.

Any miniature listed here is at least three years old.  AoG closed in November '02 and Mongoose has been using their old molds and there old variants as well.  The Drakh will be the first 'virign' ships produced by Mongoose.

Hey, thanks for that link Ghaz!

I never knew the previous game owners had released so many of the minis and that Mongoose is really still parceling them out.

I can see quite a few minis in that list that haven't been released by Mongoose yet.

So now is the time to see if Mongoose can make some characterfull minis with accompanying balanced rules.

Well, in their defense the game mechanics are all Mongoose. It's just the miniatures and the vessel designs that they've carried over.

Aren't the scale of the ships supposed to be different also? The older ones being smaller..... ?

There were two previous B5 games from AOG. They used two different scales, and I believe Mongoose has settled on the larger, although I believe they're using the smaller fighters. In some cases, in fact, they've converted a large fighter to a small patrol vessel... I've heard this happened with one of the Vree ships.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.

Ah, that would be the Vree Xarr Patrol Boat vs their Tzymm fighters.

I like how they went for the bigger ships but for the smaller fighters. Those large fighters look completely out of scale compared to the ships (of course the small fighters are also way out of scale but that's what you get when you want to be able to see models).

Personally I can't wait to see the Drakh...I might have to expand and give my own ISA their worst enemies...Not often I take both sides...

A little more info on the planned Drakh releases:

April 2006

Drakh Fleet Book
Drakh Fleet Box Set
Drakh Heavy Raiders
Drakh Light Raiders

May 2006
Drakh Carrier
Drakh Light Cruiser

Too bad none of the local FLGS carry the line.

It looks like the Abbai and the Drazi are getting some unannounced reinforcements (they weren't previously mentioned in the upcoming release schedule).

For the Abbai it's the Lakara Cruiser and the Shyarie Jammer Frigate, while the Drazi get Sky Serpent Heavy Assault Fighters.

Why restrict yourself to just the ISA?  Here's what you missed:

  • Centauri Executioner Fast Destroyer - November
  • Minbari Neroon Heavy Assault Ship - September
  • Earth Alliance Marathon Advanced Cruiser - July
  • Earth Alliance Nemesis Advanced Destroyer - August
  • Narn G'Vran Fast Cruiser - October
  • Brakiri/Abbai Brivoli Advanced Warship - December
  • Vree Z'Takk Command Saucer - November
  • Drazi Fireraptor Battleship - December

Looks like there's a good bit planned for B5 this year.

A lot of those ships have got a price of $20,- listed. The same as a Centauri Octurion Battleship! So these are going to be some impressive ships I hope.

Hmmmm, Vree Command Saucer.........
