right, so i am an avid 40k player with lots and lots of tau (i can do appoclyps very easily)

i have allways liked the idea of space ship battles, and have done some minor reserch inot this game.

i have downloaded the main rules, advanced rules, the tau fleet roster, IG fleet roster, and SM fleet roster.

i wish to stick with tau, and was woundering what would be a good buy for starting out in about 500 - 1,000 point games.

i love the look of the forge world models, but they are not official rules yet are they?  none the less i plan on buying a few.

i am also interested in the fluff of the nicassar dhow.. if i remember correctly, they are very potant psykers, but must remain in a state of stasis or sleep.  esently controlling the ships in there dreams.

ok so the first thing i had in mid was to load up on ships that can fire the tau torpedo.

keep sending salvos of turning missiles into opponet, backed by my rush of escort class ships, while my crusier and up class ships keep bombarding with torpedos, and prow guns blazing.

 

but that is just a thought from someone who has never actualy played a game.

Tau can be very nasty as they have guided torpedos.

Gothic is a great game and i am getting into it myself(building a grey knite strike for at 1K)
i suggest you take a look at the new tau ships over on the forge world site and download the free PDF file for the rules.
the custodian and especially the protector class can be seriously devestating. the also look realy good to boot!
