Ok, I would like to know the weakenesses of this list.  I will be entering a local tournament at the end of this month and will be facing Marines, Chaos, Tau, and Eldar and maybe some Nids.  I will post my list and explain the strategy behind it.  Please give me feedback on my list and strategy.  Thanks.

HQ

Master of Sanctity w/ artificer armor, plasma pistol, krak grenades

Command Squad - Vt. Sgt.w/ power fist, bolt pistol; Co. Champ, bp&ccw x6, krak gren x4, melta gun

Rhino for command squad w/ smoke and xtra armor

The purpose of this squad is Hand to hand combat.  I have the powerfist in there to handle any MC's or Greater Demons.  The melta is there to take off a wound of a MC or GD before the charge.  The rhino is there to get this squad to where it is needed most.

Troops

(10) Tactical Squad - Vt. Sgt.w/ powerfist, bolt pistol; plasma gun; rhino w/ smoke and Ex. Ar.

(10) Tactical Squad - Same as above

(8) Scouts - bolters x7, missile launcher

(5) Scouts - sniper rifles x4, missile launcher

The tactical squads are there to kill troops.  They will either stay back and shoot 24" if my opponent is assualt oriented or will drive forward in their rhinos to get in rapid fire range if my opponent hangs back.  The powerfists in the Tactical squads are there to give them a little "umph" in close combat.  The Scouts will infiltrate into good firing positions and take out tanks as primary targets and infantry as secondary.  These will usually infiltrate close together and the bolter scout are there to fend off any infantry that get too close to the snipers.

Elites

Dreadnought w/ twin-linked Lascannon and Missile Launcher

This guy is here for anti-tank/MC kills.  He will sit back and shoot.

Heavy Support

Predator w/ twin-linked lascannon and heavy bolter sponsons

Vindicator

The predator is there to take out tanks, light skimmers, and secondarily infantry.  The Vindicator will take out primarily heavy infantry and secondarily infantry and tanks.

My playstyle is to have a maneuverable army; that is why everything can move and shoot.  I like to crowd my opponent and force her/him to move where she/he doesn't want to.  I play pretty agressive and love to beat the odds.

Let me know what you think about my stategy as well as my list.  Thanks.

Without changing your list, here are some suggestions:

  • the command squad should add another meltagun.  You can have two, why not?
  • the ten-man tactical squads should have a heavy bolter added for the times you sit back and shoot.  It's cheap and signuficantly adds to the squads firepower.
  • add one sniper scout to keep the squad scoring more often.
  • make the predator a destructor with lascannon sponsons or a full blown annihilator.  It should be dedicated to anti-tank.  If you want it to fill the role of light vehicle/anti-troop, make it a destructor w/ heavy bolter sponsons.  A lascannon turret with heavy bolter sponsons in inefficient.

To pay for the above:

  • drop the two scouts from the 8-man squad
  • drop the arti-armor from the chappy

The only other consideration might be power of the machine spirit and extra arnor for the vindy, but it is expensive for a 1500 point list.
