So yes, hello.

I guess I should get all this out of the way. I've been reading Dakka for about a year now and enjoy it much more than many of the other sites. I'm still a relative newb to Warhammer, having started not long ago (although I first started playing in Elementary school and quickly realized I needed a job to keep playing) I've still managed to spend more on Warhammer than a sensible drug habit, so I have 3 armies. A small Necron force, a very large Ork force, and an insanely large Tyranid force. (God bless ebay and not so disposable income)

Not sure what else to say, although I do have one newbish question I can never seem to find an answer for: When a vehicle squadron is fired upon, does the opponent pick which vehicle is being shot or are all shots and hits distributed amongst the squadron as if they were an infantry squad and I can assign wounds? Not sure how this works out.

I live in Los Angeles CA USA, hate walks on the beach, and love my warhammer.

Welcome.

LA, huh? If I ever get off my butt and get some games of 40K in we could play sometime. Where do you game in LA?

As for your rules question, check out page 73 of the rulebook for your answer: hits are evenly allocated throughout the squadron, starting with the closest vehicle to the firers and working your way back.

And don't forget to go into your profile and pick a rank track. That way you can show off your love for Orks, Tyranids or Necrons.

Thanks Yak, that helps a lot.

I normally play out in the 909 area, Pegasus Hobbies in Ontario/Upland, to be specific. (20% all warhammer gear). I am looking for a good place to play and maybe even a club to join out here since I do hate having to drive an hour plus to get a game in when my usual partner is around. I've been to Game Empire in Pasadena a few times, and other than the Glendale GW store, the battle bunker, and Knightware, I don't know of any solid places to play, and of those locations, none of them have really made me want to hunker down for 3+ hours in them.

I'd love to play with some new folks, mostly because I only play against Tau and Eldar. Something new would be a treat.

Wow I used to live of foothill and mountain for like 2 and a half years. I was right up the street from pegasus hobbies. Ontario moved the new GW store out there across the street from the Edwards cinemas when you get off of the 10 freeway. I know most of the employees there they are pretty cool. There are a lot of really good players at Game Empire. Pegasus is a good store too. I usually stop by there when I am in the neighborhood. I moved out here to the south bay this summer so I dont really go out there too much anymore.

-Cheers and Welcome

"Do NOT ask me if you can fire the squad you forgot to shoot once we are in the assault phase, EVER!!!"

Yah, I've played at the moved GW in Ontario a few times, although I sort of jumped ship to Pegasus for the fact they are cheaper and the cat that runs the section is pretty chill. I did like the staff at GW, and there were quite a few more players than Pegasus, but Pegasus is still my number 1 place to play.

The employees at Game Empire seem nice enough, but getting to Pasadena from my neck of the woods isn't too easy, especially if there is traffic. I suppose I must suck it up and deal with the traffic if I want to get some games in.

I must say I tend to avoid the Battle Bunker, mostly for the fact that each time I've been to browse and check it out, there has been at least 3 players there that are the exact symbol of the annoying gamer: Low grooming standards, obnoxious sub-sophomoric humor, and lots of cheese. But I digress...nice to see a person from the 909 has escaped its clutches.
