Here is another build I though of for my Dark Angels. The purpose of this list is to make an army list as competitive as possible:
-HQ-
Beliel w/ Lighting Claws = 130
Interrogator Chaplian w. Powerfist, Jump Pack = 165
-Troops-
5-man Deathwing Squad w/ Assault Cannon, Chainfist = 250
10-man Tactical Squad w/ Powerfist, Meltagun, Lascannon Mounted in Rhino = 255
10-man Tactical Squad w/ Powerfist, Meltagun, Lascannon Mounted in Rhino = 255
-Fast Attack-
10-man Assault Squad w/ Powerfist = 260
-Heavy Support-
10-man Devastator Squad w/ 4 Missile Launchers = 245
Predator Destructor w/ HB Sponsons = 95
Predator Destructor w/ HB Sponsons = 95
10 Scoring Units
= 1750 pts.
General strategy is to break the Tactical and Devastator Squads into Combat Squads, so I have a gun line that looks like this (2) 5-man Lascannon Squads, (2) 5-man dual Missle Launcher squads, back by the two predators. The Meltagun and Powerfist in the other 5-man Tactical squads play counter assault. The Chaplian leads the assault squad, Beliel leads the terminators. Both male a play for a flank or the objective.
What do you think?

The list does have potential but I think it needs a little more fire power. If you can find the points to upgrade both of those Preds to Annihilators with Heavy Bolter sponsoons you will see a good leap in fire power.
4 Missiles on the Dev Squad might be a little excessive. Consider doing 2 missiles and 2 Heavy Bolters. With the points that are saved there you can get the las cannons on the Annihilators (might need to find some more points).

This is just a crappier version of a generic SM list. Why bother?
And that is why whoever wrote the DA codex should be fired.

Can we try and keep the negative comments about the Dark Angels Codex down to a mimimum. This about maximizing this particular lists effectiveness. Not complain that it isn't as good as the Standard SM list. I know that already. This is a challenge I have takin upon myself to see if I can get this codex to work.
In order to upgrade the Predators, I need an additional 70 points to do so. I would rather keep them cheap.
The thing that is bothering me about this list is it may be a little excessive to field the Chaplain. I wonder, if I have the points, it may be better to field Ezekial.

Why bother? Um maybe he wants to challenge himself? Maybe he likes Dark Angels? Seriously, why post if you think Dark Angels are a galactic failure. It's not like he is suddenly going to say..."Boy you really showed me the light! I think I'll go sell my DA stuff right now!"
Now on to the list. I like what you have going on here, but I like Negativemoney's suggestion. I would test the list with both variants and see which works best.

True, you might be able to squeeze Ezekial in there, but then your assault marines are less effective and your HQ is walking. Again test it with both options and see what works best.

The problem in general with the DA codex is the lack of wiggle room or customization in it. That is about all that is the problem with the list.
Ezekial would be a good choice, having a hood in the list will go along way against armies like Chaos, and Eldar (that have Eldrad).

Not sure exactly how that was rude, Iorek. It's pretty clear that the alleged crappiness Longshot was referring to is meant to stem from the 'dex itself, not from any deficiency in the poster.

I found that bikes with melta type weapons and powerfists worrisome. Its the "I turboboost and on turn 2 then I getcha, while you shoot at my 3+ invulnerable" that drives me nuts. I don't know points but at 2000 its been viable against my SAFH. I like your predators just as they are, very cheap, lots of shots. Your dev squad is exactly the way I'd feild mine, lots of big guns, the most cost effective you can get in the dev squad. With all your ten man squads its not as imperative to have heavy bolters in your troops to deal with hordes (as you are a horde yourself, or as close as one can get with DA.)
If you feel that your play enviroment will have lots of eldar, then you'll want a librarian over the chaplain. It would be nice to have a flying librarian or one that can deep strike with the terminators but I don't think its possible I suppose you could stick him in a rhino, there will after all be lots of room.
Can you field razorbacks? Maybe reduce the assault squad size and upgrade the rhino's, it'll get you more guns. Maybe just replace the chaplain to upgrade both rhino's to razors. Just a thought.
Yes Longshot's comment was rude, read his first sentence. Now apply it to something that you like. Such as "Oh you like Eldar, well the new ork codex and 5th edition totally nerf them, so that $750.00 you spent on them was a total waste" That would make me see red, especially if it was true.

I agree that a psy hood is a must have anymore. I like your list in generel and you just need to play test it and give some feed back. I personally like speeders with melta A-cannons over Pred destructors for thier mobility to claim objective ect. Better yet drop your missile dev squads and go with both the preds and speeders. I think you will find having the two assault cannons and meltas are just as effective as the 4 missile launchers. I would also drop the Rhinos and go with a three Preds and upgrade the turrets to twin las with the left over dev points ect. Remember to be competetive your up against a skimmer/Nidzilla eich enviornment. I have had to make the new BA list work and have succeeded and the same is possible with DA IMO you just need to work thru various builds and see what works.

Keep the chaplain BTW to go with the Assault squad to increase thier effectiveness on the charge. Great for counter chargeing in shooty armies.

I am thinking of dropping Beliel from the list considering I don't necessarily need him. Ezekial would be really nice to have in the gun line (he makes them fearless, and he has Mind Worm, downside he has no Inv. save), but I think it would be very hard justify dropping what I would need to to get him in there.
The other option is a Terminator Librarian to replace Beliel.
Another thought I had was switching out the Assault Squad and Chaplain with a Ravenwing Bike squad and Bike Chaplian. Might be even points, provides a little more flexibility to the list, and gets me homers for the terminators. But I really like the Assault Squad.

Not sure exactly? He plainly called the guys list a CRAPPIER version of generic SM. Many times internet "tone" is hard to read, but the words "This is just a crappier version..." made it clear to anyone reading it. If the dex was the sole target of the response, he should have said the dex can only create crappier versions...which is still a knock against the guy, but perhaps softer.
As for the list, downsizing the assault squad to afford razorbacks for the added firepower would get my vote. Also adding a powerfist to the assault squad vet would pay-off.

Escalation means death for your army.
Your combat squads are ineffective in CC.
Yes, you can shoot but overall this looks like a standard GW style Smurf list.
Only thing your missing is a Land Speeder...
Sadly, I don't think anything but RW or DW or vehicle armies are suitable in the DA list because of the Codex itself being so restrictive.
It's a playtest for a new Smurf Codex, but sales aren't exactly taking off for the DA line so I expect it to be considered a failure.
Like this army will be.
After 2 turns of shooting, all the vehicles will be dead--and if you deep strike the terminators, they'll be dead too.
That leaves you with a very poor Chaos style army--it's 'elite' so there's nobody in it club. 30 standard marines and 10 assault marines do not an army make.
I'll give you a more concrete suggestion in a minute.

Dark Angels Roster

10 man Devastator Squad w/Heavy Bolter (x4) + Power Weapon
Total Roster Cost: 1750
All the characters really suck and cost too much, but a Librarian at least offers a little utility.
Sadly the AT power is a little low, but it isn't going anywhere.
Lots of anti-infantry firepower in the heavy bolters.
Good assault power in the form of 2 assault squads.
Of course regular Smurfs will give you fits as they are far superior. Mobile in a DA army is an oxymoron, unless you bring a vehice army or a RW army, you can't be mobile. The stuff costs too much.
This army is, at least, hardy. That's about all you get out of it, but the DA are a really horrible army if you want to actually run marines. :(
You don't ever really want to combat squad, it just weakens marine lists (it's one of the stupidest things to come out of the design studio in recent years).
