I just made up a 2000 point WH army. There is everything in it, from Inquisitors to Space Marines.

But is it any good? (And why?)

Inquisitor (Carapace, Boltgun, hood) 186
1 Acolyte (Carapace, Boltgun)
2 Chirirgeons
3 HB-Servitores

Inquisitor (Carapace, Boltgun, Tarot) 184
1 Acolyte (Arteficier Armour)
2 Mystics
3 HB-Servitores

Eversor 95
3 DCAs 120
2 DCAs 80

6 IST (2plasmaguns) 70
Chimera (2 hvy bolter, ea, smoke) 93
6 IST (2maltaguns) 70
Chimera (2x hvy bolter, ea, smoke) 93
las/plas squads 115
las/plas squads 115
las/plas squads 115

Tornado Landspeeder 80
Tornado Landspeeder 80
Tornado Landspeeder 80

Exorcist 135
Exorcist 135
Exorcist 135

That's it.
12 scoring units, partly not very mobile... :S

Thank you for your constructive critiqus!

.................................... Searching for Iscandar

There's nothing really wrong with it, it's a little short on bodies and range. Those plasmas are ok, but on the ST since they can't deep strike or infil...grenade launchers are usually a little bit better.

You're right with the grenade launcher! Thanks, I'll put them in.

Um...short on range? Yeah, the HB-retinues can only shoot 36" without moving. Lasercanons are 48" and the rest can move and shoot anyway.

No Infiltration allowed would screw my assissins.
In Escalation I should do fairly well, don't you think?
Starting off with a lot of shooty stuff and those infiltrators against probably inferior troops.

I still love this army, though I just redid my math it it was by far less than 2000 points...I kind of screwed it up...will look at it later today.

Updated. +2 Tanks. +2 IST

sorry to break the news, but you can't use exorcists unless you have some sisters in the army. i think you need to have at least one cannoness (or paletine). i'm not 100% sure though.

as far as effectiveness, you should be alright, the las/plas squads, land speeders and exorcists are good choices. but other than that the army isn't very effective.

i don't see the logic in taking the ist's, the sisters are way better, for one more point you are getting a better saving throw and better weapons (bolters vs. hellguns), the only time you should be taking the ist's are when you need plasma. you could take the melta's in a sister squad. i know you want the chimera's but they won't be good anyways, due to a bs of 3 and a 10 av on the side. they are a bomb waiting to blow up and entangle everything in it.

i'm also not to fond of the two hq choices, they (Inquisitors) come with power armor so why give them carapace. you don't need two tarot's and you can't give acolyte's artificier armour. you can only give them 15 pts of wargear and the armour is 25. another reason i don't like inquisitors and thier retinue's is because you are paying 185 pts for 3 heavy bolters, that is a terrible deal. you could 4 from a retributor squad for less then 120 pts, plus the retributors have better armor and bs.

in escalation missions you might do ok. don't forget your only real threats are the landspeeders, and exorcists both of which don't start on the field. most escalation missions have objectives and i just can't see squads of ist's grabbing or holding objectives, they die easily. i know the marines could do it too, but to get to the objectives they are moving, which means that they aren't firing beyond 12". same with hq's, and all assassins don't cound as scoring units.

But I am. And I tell you: It works.
You mixed it up with the Immolator.

I didn't playtest it yet, I just thought about fielding a non mech-Sister WH army.

Woah! I agree with you what you said about the SoBs - and that's what I actually field atm. But that bit of text makes the emorcicon cry

1. Majority armour...you need it to put wounds on your inquisitor...and it's 4+ in inquisitorial retinues.
2. There is only one Tarot in the list.
3. DH got only one 25 point wargear and that's not the artificier armour...
4. Retributors are a bad choice. They use up your Exorcist slots. And you need at least one Inquisitor Lord...can't run an army without HQ and if I would be you I'd look up the Retributor and henchmen BS.

I got two chimera squads, three speeders and three tanks. I can move them towards the objectives during all 6 turns, nothing forces me to stay in my deployment zone until turn six. I thought that would be enough.
Are you sure about HQ+retinues not being scoring units?

on board Terminus Est

The best way to do this type of army is with Sisters as the parent codex and Deamon Hunters as your ally. The Exorcist is excellent as your heavy support plus the Sisters have useful units you can use for rank and file troops.

Not sure on the DH, but up to now I only field a pure sister army (with additional assassins...god, that eversor is a lucky guy with all those chicks in the army...).
