Ive been toying with the Idea of dropping the rhinos and adding scouts or just using drop pods, and so far my long fangs have done diddly since all they are is fire magnets and adding in more blood claws or something else entirely though what exactly I dont know. Im open to any and all constructive comments and suggestions.

Thanks
Gareth

.................................... Searching for Iscandar

Alot of Space Wolf armies use blood claw bikers, 2 land raiders, some more regular blood claws...and never ever long fang packs. The dreads are kinda iffy as well.

Add Wolf Scouts....they are the uber.

Don't mix weapons in your Devastor/Longfang squads.
You can split up fire, but it just isn't the way to go. They are better off with 2 HBs and 2 PCs. LCs are overcosted on them.

Those Greay Hunters look weak.

What would you suggest I do with the grey hunters, they are armed with bolters instead of bolt pistols so they do have good range and stopping power. Any suggestions?

Waha! I know this man! Yes...drop pods would be very scary, considering they are 20 points less than a rhino and allow you to safely deepstrike scary things. We must have another allied battle....your Wolves and my Sisters rocking face on some xeno scum.

Brotherhood of Blood

Wolf scouts suddenly appearing behind your armor or heavy weapon squad kind of blows. Matter of fact thats the only thing I typically worry about when up against space wolves. (Deployments when they come in) Characters with wolf pelts sometimes I guess.

don't waste plasma pistols on the BCs. with a BS of 3 it is a waste. they should have power fists.

while ragnar is interesting he is not worth the points for a 1,500 pt battle.

take care,

Space Wolves are the perfect army for drop pods and the Grey Hunter is much more powerful when mounted in one. Here is how I run mine:

7x Grey Hunter w. 2x power fist, 2x plasma pistol, 1x plasma gun, 4x bolter, frag grenades
WGPL in TDA w. chain fist and combi plasma

That is six plasma shots the turn they come in from reserve.

I also run another pack with a meltagun and the WGPL has a combi melta and a thunder hammer.

Keep the Blood Claws in rhinos as they are best for assaulting not shooting. I like to run a couple IC on bikes and a squad of Blood Claw bikers with 2x power fist can really shake things and make a solid retinue for the biker ICs.

I would definitely keep the venerable dreadnaught - he allows you to reroll for the first turn and if you decide to run with drop pods then you will want to go second. Seeing he has WS5, BS5 and an extra attack he is also quite solid when it comes to shooting and assaulting. The dreadnaught should also be mounted in a drop pod as well.
