I have a very well painted chaos army. I know most people are wary of "painted" armies, but I can assure you of its quality. I won 3rd best army at the Necronomicon GT, after 2 professionally painted armies. I can provide pictures upon request.

It's actually painted to be it's own unique army. Each marine has it's own detail-painted chapter symbol on their shoulders. It's a horned demon skull similar to the word bearer skull, but it's flanked by angel wings. The paint scheme is black and bone with gold trim. Think Black Legion but with bone colored shoulder armor. I built and converted this army a while back. But creating your own army with it's own fluff goes along with the new approach GW is taking with the new chaos codex and it's fluff.

The army consists of a converted chaos lord with wings, a powerfist/claw, and a large power axe. (can easily be used with almost any lord set up in the new codex). Several troops squads with special and heavy weapons, two havoc squads, obliterators, and a defiler. But if you combine it with some stuff from my "other stuff" list like the terminators and berzerkers, you have a larger army. With this example it would go from about 1500pts to 2700+ points.
