After listening to some advice, reading various threads, and thinking about my mistakes from the last game I played; I reworked my list and came up with this. I'm going to be playing it against Mech Tau and probably playing a Cleanse mission. There are a couple of things in the list I'm not sure about.
Farseer Jetbike, Guide, Mind War, Singing Spear Spirit Stones 148
His main goal is to hopefully kill off any independent characters, or multi wound models with mind war, and cast guide on whichever squad of jet bikes he is near to boost their firepower, the singing spear is there to fill up points and maybe do some damage if he sees the side or rear of a tank
8 Striking Scorpions, Exarch, Scorpion Claw, Shadowstrike, Stalker 180
These are the one unit I am very unsure of. I know my friend takes a lot of Kroot in his lists and I'm sure that these would be great at getting close to Kroot that he tends to infiltrate into one of the table quarters neither of us start off in. They just seem a little to expensive for that though. I was also considering infiltrating them near his battlesuits and hopefully getting into close combat with them but, I don't know if that is feasible with Scorpions.
6 Fire Dragons 96
These are supposed to go in the Falcon and try to emulate the fish of fury tactic, drop them out near some battlesuits kill them while the Falcon shoots something else, get back in the falcon, and repeat. I just worry that since his shooting tends to ignore their armor value, that they will get slaughtered after popping out of the falcon.
3 Guardian Jet Bikes, Warlock, Destructor, Singing Spear, Shuriken Cannon 134
This is there to lend fire support, hit the rear or side of a tank with the spear, and/or contest or wipe out a unit on a table quarter and clame it on the final turn.
3 Guardian Jet Bikes, Shuriken Cannon 76
These are just there to fill up troop choices, while providing some fire support, and contest or claim a table quarter.[i]
Falcon: Holo-Field, Spirit Stones, Vectored Engines, Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon 205
I plan on using this a lot smarter than the skimmers I used in the first game I played against my friend, mainly paying much closer attention to where I can move to prevent line of sight to it, while getting it close enough to drop off the fire dragons inside. I probably won't be quite as careful with the Falcon, since it does need to get close to drop off its cargo.
Fire Prism Holo-Field, Spirit Stones 160
I plan on doing the same thing with this as the Falcon. Maneuver it around the board avoiding line of sight with his stuff while picking off targets as they present themselves, or use it to cover the Falcon as it moves up to drop off the Fire Dragons.
Total Points: 999
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
