Okay, 500 pt tournament at my local GW, what do people think of the following list. I am a little worried that the falcon may be overkill, I am considering changing it for a serpent and using the extra point to bump up the DAs. I also need to check the tournament rules, if a HQ is required, I will amalgamate the Warp Spider squads and have them led by an autarch with jump pack, probably splurge on withdraw as well (maybe even surprise assault). Hints, tips or criticism welcome - or do people think this is too cheesy?

I would not say invincible but a tough army to beat.

What is the force org chart you are supposed to work with?

Pretty much combat patrol, minimum one troop choice, max two wound, no AV over 12 etc

Pretty tough list. Be aware though that the combined armor on a falcon is 34, if you are playing a combat patrol styled tourney the limit is 33 - just something else to check. Personally, I hope they don't allow for falcons at 500pts, it will make the comp very unbalanced.

Perhaps consider taking bikes and vypers instead

Check your math: 6 avengers, including an exarch with dual catapults, will cost you 89 points.

I'm a big fan of warp spiders, but I would be weary of using 254 points worth of spiders in a 500 point game. Each time you make a second jump, you have a 1/6 chance of killing a spider. That's not a big deal in 1500 points, but in 500 points every model counts.
