I am glad to see that they are pumping the Karmen out so that you can build a playable force in relatively short order.
And while I do think that the new winter camo on the firetoad is very nice, there are PLENTY of other models that need to be released before firetoads get a color variant.
I am kind of perplexed however about the type 3 vehicles that were supposed to be out in Feb, then pushed back further to god only knows when.
I dont even see them on the release schedule. :(
Hopefully we can see them before the beginning of summer. I need me some Dotch Yaga, Baal Golgoth, Firecrawler love.

I don't think it's a camo variant- I think it's a weapon variant. Now you can buy FTs with grenade launchers, instead of hoping that's the secret weapon you get in the box! And I am loving those Shock TacArms. Mmmm, mmm. Go ahead, take cover.
And let me say that I am very happy to see that Rackham is releasing things, and even more happy to actually see them at my FLGS. Hopefully the rumors of Rackham's demise will die away.

Good call, mate! I think youre right. This is from the Cryhavoc online newsletter:
Exclusive! Here´s a preview of the Fire Toad in its winter dress. This combat strider piloted by a U.N. soldier is presented in its "Lancelot" version armed with two grenade launchers. It is ready for a recon mission on the planet Élysée as part of a company sent from New Eden, the capital city of the U.N.A.
Could there be a new campaign in preparation?
This Fire Toad will be available on earth from the month of May.
fellblade wrote:Hopefully the rumors of Rackham's demise will die away.
Here is a quote from Collin Kelly, a rackham employee:
"There has been rumors. Yes we have been hanging by a thread over a pool full of sharks and acid (how's that possible shark swimming in acid...). But though it might disappoint some people, we are not filing for bankrupcy.
We have gone through some harsh times lately. It seems that the worse is behind us now. We've got clear sky ahead and a gentle downwind breeze.
Hoist the flag, the Red Dragon is still afloat!
BTW, all the staff at Rackham would like to thank all the nice people who've been supporting us through those difficult times. Just let the doom-sayers know that we are still alive.
And yes I do love my metaphors."
So it looks like we can rest assured that while rackham isn't in the strongest position they have ever been in, that we don't have to worry about the company going belly up.

The Toad is as well a repaint (Winter-Camo) as includes all weapon options and all option cards, even the errata worked in.

You see, Rackham gives you "Previews" of their releases by including "secret" (read: randomly inserted) items for weapon switches in the boxes.
For example, Therians have 3 different variants for their type 2 striders.
A Wraith Golgoth (standard), Poltergeist Golgoth, and an Incubus Golgoth.
When you buy a Wraith, inside the container it comes with (the shipping container that is usually used for transporting crap across the ocean, shown below) you get a random bit that either converts it into a Poltergeist or an Incubus.
Its not a bad system, but they really should just provide all of the weapon variants for the strider frame in the box, instead of making you hope beyond hope that you are getting X variant.
I would find this acceptable if they raise the price of the product by 5 bucks. Plus, it saves retailers from having to stock multiple items on the shelf which could easily be cut down by including all variants inside the product. Something that GW is sort of doing right now (the consolidating of shelf space, that is).
Rackham has a lot of packaging issues that need to be dealt with. This is just one of many (i.e. not enough of certain special weapons in an attachment box, etc).

Very good point Joe. Gears are now turning ... Dread bash list is also very doable with all those squat stompy mech things. Just to check, how's repainting these buggers work out? Re-prime, or use the prepaint as primer ftw? - Salvage

Both ways are possible, depending on how much you want to alter the scheme.
The peg on which the King Buggy rests is btw, not the final one. The final design has three height levels and rotates 360°
@Packaging
The AFV with the randomly inserted weapons were intended as previews. Only now are the the final versions comming out and have alle options in the box, at the same price as before.

If I were any more excited it would be illegal. They are quite nice. I will retouch them, but the pre-paint job is pretty good. These are the first pre-painted figs I've ever bought and I was pleasantly surprised.
