I took the Cleanse and Purify traits.

Epistolary with Lightning Claws, Fear the Darkness,Veil of Time, Familiar
10 Marines, 2 with plasmaguns, 8 are Deathwatch with Inferno Bolts.
Furious Charge/DropPod

Master of Sanctity
JumpPack, ThunderHammer, Crozius, Adamantine Mantle

3 Drop Pod Squads
10man each 2 plasma, Vet sarge with plasma and powerfist, 7 are DW with Inferno Bolts

1 8man Assault Squad with 2 plasma, meltabombs and Vet Sargeant with plasma/powerfist

1 whirlwind
1 landspeeder Tornado.

Shock Drop in on a flank, support with the assault squad, landspeeder is there to grab an objective. Dunno how effective dropping in 10 marines with 5plasma shots and 14 bolter shots (rerolling wounds) will be. I know its light on tank killing....2 meltas in there possibly?

DW is certainly fun to play, but not tourney legal (but you surely know it).

Your army contains three elements, drop podding units, footsloggers accompanying the Librarian, and jump packers. The enemy can focus fire to your squads on the table before the drop pods arrive. For this, I'd take a fully drop podded army, with some support by Tornados and Whirlwind(s).

Deathwatch rules are tournament legal.

Drop whirlwind, tornado and assault squad for some six man marine squads in drop pods or two dreadnoughts in pods.

At around 145pts each, I would go with 2 x 6 man squads with 2 meltaguns.

Also, drop the chaplain for something useful. In a list this pricy for basic guys you can't afford 150pt junk characters.

Not sure what to do with all the left over points but I am sure the answer lies in "more drop pods."

Yeah, but with their rules, you can only give one Space Marine the DWKT Upgrade, or have one DWKT HQ squad. There's no way to legally give all your squads the special ammo. The other problem is that the DWKT Librarian is only a Codicer.

What you can do is use the traits to give yourself a DWKT list that's tourney legal. By Using the Cleanse and Purify Trait and the trait that gives you True-Grit/Counter Assault, you can have a list that resembles DWKT, you just won't have the special ammo in your squads.

I would add more meltas into your pods. Plasma's great, but melta's are pretty money. If you're going to be dropping 4 pods, I would definately consider making it 4 meltas, 4 plasmas.

If you have the cover to hide behind, you're assault squad and tornado will be fine. Once the pods drop in their face, no one is going to notice the assault squad coming at them.

I've never seen this list with a whirlwind and I would be curious to know how effective it is. If you had the points, I would definately suggest throwing in a Dread with Heavy Flamer and AC, Ven really helps too.

The DWKT is a really cool unit. I loved mine, but I finally realized that 10 points for true grit and special ammo just wasn't worth it. 80 points for truegrit, special ammo on 8 guys, as opposed to 24 for for truegrit and counterattack for those same 8 guys is a big difference. You could even use that difference to buy a Powerfist for that squad, which you really need if you're going ot be droppodding in their face. The Powerfist in the DWKT HQ entry is just way too expensive.
The one cool thing they've got are the HB that are assault 18, or Hellfire Heavy 1, 36. If you want to make that unit anti-infantry (having special ammo to re-roll wounds) then I suggest bringing the 6 HB shots.

You can paint your army in a DWKT scheme and even give them the shoulder pads and guns, but I would suggest using the traits rather than the actualy DWKT HQ entry.

You are incorrect. According to the DW rules, you can upgrade any member of a HQ, Veteran or Tactical Squad to the DW for 5 points, and they can buy the special ammo.

I did not use the DWKT, as the two power Librarian is more useful.

I am incorrect. They finally put a new DWKT PDF up. The old one only allowed "a" member, or "a" HQ. Making a whole list of them impossible.

I still stand by my assessment of the usefulness of the upgrade.

Gotcha. I'm fine with the lack of True Grit and spending the 10 points per guy on the rerolls. If I could fit in another ww I would, and lay down minefields to help cut off half the enemy army, as I will be attacking one flank.

I've also thought about throwing in 2 lasplas squads.....Dunno yet.
