The image of our heroes crossing the building is just freaky to me. I'm cared of edges of messed with me a little. Excellent use of making the characters smaller than the monster-seeing a foot, that sort of thing.

Now here's the question-were those nukes or were those fuel air bombs at the end?

Yeah, was a real "ah crap" moment seeing the chick's building slanted against the other, and knowing they were going to go for it anyway. And pretty sure those were fire bombs or something at the end, nuke seems overly drastic (and wouldn't it have vaporized our heroes in the first blast in a wash of white light, not with multiple fiery blasts?)

Who all is waiting for a sequel? Perhaps filmed more traditionally? The army must have beaten it to have recovered the film and archived it away with its own serial code and such. I'm guessing the monster wasn't killed by those fire bombs, but confronted and somehow killed at another site ...

The only thing i think they could have cut was the camera guy getting offed at the end. It didnt sit right with me that the creature got that close and had the ultra cheesy staredown. I kinda liked the idea of never really getting an extreme close up, if the best shot we saw was in that bombing run i would have been happier.

... just to showcase the monster and little else. Like the helicoptor 'evac' that flew alongside the critter, instead of directly away? And directly into a bombing run? Only explanation is so the film can show us the monster and it getting bombed.

Seriously though if i was in that chopper i would have brained that f*cking pilot before gravity got the chance. Evac means GTFO not hang on i think i can make out what the tattoo of the soldier in that things mouth says so lets get closer please.

No way it was a nuke, or else I think there wouldn't be enough left of their tape to watch (not being that close to ground zero, anyway).

Did anyone stay to the end of the credits? They played a weird little sound bite that according to internet rumor was "it's alive" looped backwards.


I loved it. I was so glad they never ran into some scientist who told them what it was and I'm so glad there was no secret pill to save the day, etc. It was perfect for what it was.

Oh, the only bit of info i wish we had was maybe what happened exactly to the bite victims. I kinda saw something like that coming but i wanna know what was up w/ that.

Crap, totally missed the sound bite, only stayed for about half the credits. And I am with you, the film is all we get and all we need. Any gaps I'm happy to fill in myself or leave be. Part of me wants to call Abrams lazy for not writing more background in, but really I can't say that's fair or matters.

They 'splode? Looks like a nasty nasty enzyme, though I wonder if you're thinking like I was before the chick popped, that they were going to infect humans and then either mutate them or have freaky babies pop out.

So help me out. Those little bugs-were those supposed to be babies or something else-they looked like mini monsters to me.

The only prior tidbit they had about the minis were that they were falling off the main mamajamma and laying some pwn on the soldiers. Your guess as to what exactly they were are as good as anybodies. I would say subspecies as the look was a bit different from the biggun.

Word on the web is that they're actually parasites. Like huge killer lice.
