I have been toiling over this army for a couple of months now....i'm trying to figure out if it's feasible or not. The army will include all 4 factions (units will only be icon bearers not the "true believers" of a god). I have played many test games (usually to either a draw or a minor victory) and went 2-2 at a tournament last week (minor win, minor loss, major loss, and massacre)

What i'm looking for is suggestions on unit choices. In your opinion, have I made the right ones? Please keep in mind that I want to maintain the fluff factor of all 4 factions.

Here's the list:

HQ
DP w/ wings

TROOP
2 x 8 CSM, Meltagun, AC w/power weapon, IoK, Rhino
2 x 9 CSM, Flamer, IoT, Rhino
2 x 6 CSM, Plasma Gun, IoS, Rhino

HEAVY
2 x 7 Havocs, 4 Meltagun, IoN, Rhino w/Havoc Launcher

As it stands I have 30 points left (which I will probably give Warptime to the DP). This is a VERY mobile army, unless of course the rolling coffins get blown up in the first turn. I'm a very big fan of going for objectives over just destroying every model on the board (I have a decent enough grasp on tactics)

Maintaining the fluff factor... does that mean you will ONLY have stuff carrying icons?

I'm asking because Obliterators would be a better heavy choice over your havocs... one unit, at least.

I'm not too fond of the Khorne guys but what am I gonna do? It stays within your fluff.

As far as havocs go... good thought with the IoN. The toughness boost will help.
Have you thought about switching it up & making one an IoT to see how the 5+ Inv save compares (and switching an IoT troop to IoN)? Just curious.

I think your Slaaneshi units need power weapons/fists. IMO, the Khorne should have a fist instead of P-Weapon. The extra attack from the Icon is a big difference when you're sporting a P-fist over a P-Weapon.

IMO, a MoT would be better than Warptime on the Prince, too (not sure of points off hand, though).

I know you're keeping with fluff, so I won't tell you to change it, but keeping the numbers fluffy is hurting you. For the record, the preferred #'s don't really exist anymore (probably not until the new Demons or Legions codex... my $ is on the Legios codex, if they happen) so, if you choose NOT to stay with them you're not technically breaking any game fluff.

Still, though, I like that you're staying true to your idea.

Thanx for the suggestions. I did try out Obliterators....I just didn't feel comfortable fielding 2 models for 150 pts....they either die really quickly (in the 2 games that I used them) or have no LOS to my oppenent due to my (at that time) 6 rhinos. I also find them too slow....imho 4 melta guns is just better than 2 lascannons...or whatever the obliterators want to use. An IoT on my DP is about the same point cost....haven't tried that one yet....is it something that works well? Power fist with the IoK units.....I like this idea....I would like to keep one unit with a power weapon (point cost reasons, as well one of the models is already converted and painted) but it does make sense....I'm not all that worried about maintaining the "magic numbers"...but I have never been really sure of how many models to put in a unit....there are soooo many different opinions on this....I was thinking of dropping the IoT units to 8 and boosting the IoS units to 7...would that suffice? Or what numbers do you think would work?

If you're not worried about magic numbers, get them to 10. The second special weapon will pay for itself every game pretty much.

The Chaos rhino rush is still just fine. just don't buy extra armor on them (just not worth it) - doesn't look like you did, so win there.

I would heartily consider putting three predators in your heavy slots and getting some more meltaguns in the troops. The havoc squads are overpriced and undergunned, and preds will add more to your mechanized feel than the havocs will.

Maybe something like:

4 x 10 in rhinos, dual specials of some sort (one for each g0d).
1 x 10 undivided in rhinos, dual specials of some sort

3 x predators with hb/ac

Then if you have any extra points, add some 3 man suicide terminator squads with combiweapons
