The SotR site for West Wind says their models are 25mm-28mm, so
it should look fine. In the picture the figure is on those beveled bases
and I'd probably just use the GW rounds for them for 40k.
I'm not much of a fan of the other stuff they've released for the
SotR line, but this bulked up trooper fits the bill of what I'd expect
a Veteran soldier to look like in a futuristic past (if that makes any
sense).
Too bad about the paint scheme, though, as it obscures the detail
on the figure. I'd like to see the armor plating a bit better, and I
hope the rifle is modeled a little further out or on arms to make
a conversion easier to pull off for the unskilled.

I like the model, but that guns just really drops down it's coolness factor. The armor looks futuristic and the gun looks like some child's toy. But as long as you switch the guns, that should look great.

Well, it IS supposed to be alt-WW2 type stuff. If you look
at their other soldiers you'll see the retro gear and weird
oddities in equipment.

Meh.
If I had the cash to shell out for metal i'd go with something from Pig Iron instead. More futuristic and rougher looking. They also have the nifty "aletrnate head" packs.

The nice thing about IQ Stormtroopers is that you only
need 30 at most.

I don't know about the drop trooper. It seems like a Ig terminator, more than a stormtrooper. You should check out CSO peace keepers.

Those are pretty cool too. But they look rather bulky to me.

Looks good, but how many poses are they really going to come out with?
As for Pig Iron, their Kolony militia look great, but I'm not a fan of the heavy infantry. But yeah- those head sprues look awesome on GW bodies.
The old Warzone plastic Bauhaus minis that came in the boxed set (the ones with the German helmets) make great stormtroopers too.

I think they're a bit too heavily armored to be stormies.
How about these guys:

I rather like the bulky look. I'm hoping they look fine next
to Grey Knight models.
The drop troopers are really the only thing I like from the
Secrets of the Reich line. Those clint eastwood wannabes
don't really have that much appeal to me.

What about the Void 1.0 or whatever ? It had very good plastic miniatures, but I don't know about the scale and I can't find any links.
