Strange as it may seem, I'm facing an unlikely alliance tonight; orks and eldar, 1000pnts each with a shared org chart. While I doubt I'll have time to get any solid advice from the forum before the game, I'm still curious as to your thoughts for this army. My current list is as follows:

Deceiver
Lord w/Res orb
Warrior X 10
Warrior X 10
Warrior X 10
Immortals X 7
Destroyers X 3
Destroyers X 3
Scarabs X 8
Heavy Dest. X 2
Heavy Dest. X 1
Monolith

With Eldar and Ork you're getting a pretty nasty combo: lethal CC mixed with some great long-range firepower and mobile heavy weapons. I'm using the Deceiver to play off of the Orks low Ld and do some damage in CC while still letting me get some shots in. The Lord's main purpose is to help my warriors survive thost nasty powerclaws and Bright lances. The scarabs primary target will either be A)Dark Reapers on his back line, or B)CC Elites I don't want getting too close too soon. The Destroyers are going skimmer hunting, while the Heavies are anti-Wraithlord/Wraithguard/Orkish Leman Russ. Monolith deploys with army to get a shot at those pesky Orks in turn 1 (hopefully).

Alternatively, I've considered dropping the Destroyers for 3 squads of Scarabs (varying in size), 2 with D-fields. Odds of getting a glancing on skimmers is roughly the same, and who doesn't love seeing approximately 90 wounds and 120 attacks coming at them?

I'm hoping the Eldar player doesn't field any fire prisms, but we'll see. I have a feeling I'm going to get crushed, but it should be fun. Any thoughts or suggestions for future battles will be appreciated. If there's interest, I'd be happy to post a battle report.

Id drop the destroyers for some more scarabs as the key to winning this game is going to be to tie up the orks long enough for you to single out the eldar player.

Unless the Ork player fields nothing but tanks, bikes, war buggies, and a warboss. He totally caught me off guard with that. I ended up going with 3 squads of scarabs, 2 with D-fields, but 2 of those went towards the Eldar player to tie up his Rangers and Warlocks on jetbikes. The scarabs performed beautifully, tying up the Eldar and Orks simultaneously, leaving my heavy D's to wipe out the Ork tanks.

The Ork player didn't realize I could warp my warriors out of combat with my Monolith, so needless to say his Warboss didn't survive the onslaught of gauss fire directed his way the next turn. The Warlocks took down my monolith and eventually (with the help of the farseer) my Deceiver. Those witchblades are one of the nastiest pieces of equipment the Eldar have.

In the end I still had well over 500 pnts of warriors, Immortals (who were unscathed), and Heavy D's and wiped out everything on the board.

Greatest moment was either A)the look on the Ork players face when his warboss went down, or B)When, after surviving two rounds of shots with minimal losses, the Eldar Rangers fled from the gaze of the Deceiver, only to run into ill-placed Ork bikes that were there to support them, therefore destroying the squad outright. It was beautiful.

So allies killed allies? Gee.

Yeah, not the best example of forethought I've seen. These guys are usually pretty sharp when I play them. Also, when one of the ork buggies exploded, it took out 4 out of 6 of the ork bikes trying to swing around my right flank. Just an all around bad day for the orks.

I meant, Allies should never kill Allies.

It's ridiculous.

It was ridiculous. Thoroughly enjoyable, and quite amusing, but ridiculous nonetheless.
