750pts-
Farseer w/Guide
Striking Scorpions x6 w/ Exarch (Scorpions Claw), Stalker
Guardians x10 w/ Scatter Laser
Guardians x10 w/Scatter Laser
Guardian Jetbikes x3
Swooping Hawks x7 w/Exarch (Sun Rifle)
Fire Prism

Im not sure about including the Guardian Jetbikes, but without them I still have about 73pts to play with, and wasnt real sure what else to throw in. Figured they could fly around and
try to keep the heat off the Fire Prism or something. Any thoughts? Ill also be getting an Autarch on jetbike and a Falcon soon, so those are viable options to swap. Am I missing close combat
capabilities?

Thanks!

Im looking to get this army going, and was wondering if any Eldar players around here can offer up some
advice on this list, I know it's low points, but it's a
starting point for a much larger force. I do have other units that can be switched in and out. Ive had Eldar since I started playing sometime around '98/'99 and they've changed quite a bit, so any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

That's a good starting list, both for play at 750 and as the seed of a larger force. At lower points-levels, you'll be facing lots of infantry and light vehicles. Your force is well-tooled for those. And you already have one tank, so adding a second Prism or a Falcon with Harlies for higher levels would work well.

Does you jetbike unit have a shuricannon? If not, find the extra points to give it one. Dropping a Hawk for that and some other benefit (second exarch power on the Scorps, Singing Spear for Farseer, whatever) would be very much worth it.

Expanding up from this list, you will probably want another unit of bikes (3 bikes again with shuricannon, maybe 4 including Warlock with spear for one unit), more heavy support (another Prism would be good, or a Wraithlord with EML/BL).

Good list and good luck!

Hey Savnock
Thanks for the reply! I appreciate it, and actually finished painting the Farseer today. I ended up going with Biel-Tan (in color scheme anyways, its easy and I like it!) even though the
Aspect Warrior overrun isnt really viable like it used to be (missing that whole troop slot option), I plan on adding in the Wraithlord to be sure, and I have a Falcon and an Autarch
on Jetbike on the way as well. Any other thoughts if not another unit of Jetbikes? I only have 2 more to add for the moment, none with cannons, but that can easily be remedied!
Any reason to go with the EML with the Brightlance instead of another multishot weapon? Have you had pretty good luck with those? The next thing other than the Wraithlord, Falcon and Jetbike Autarch that I was thinking of obtaining was a squad of Fire Dragons for said Falcon, what could be better right?

Thanks again!

Another question that came to me earlier was going back to the
6 Fire Dragons in a Falcon, drop off and torch whatever there is that needs torching.
I was curious though, has anyone had luck doing the same tactic, or something similar with Harlequins?
6 Harlequins in a Falcon (w/ scatter laser) Harlies w/shadowseer + VoT, a pair of fusion pistols and some HarlieKisses

Is there anything to that possibility or would Dragons just be more effective? Or something else entirely?

Yes, Fire Dragons with the Falcon would be good. You will need more anti-tank as you go to 1K points and above.

Harlies in a Falcon are also very good, although for a different purpose. They are a great close combat unit either for offense or countercharging. Looking at the rest of your list, I would say add the Dragons first. Although the Harlies are a very good deal for what they do, they won't help with your serious lack of strong anti-armor fire. If, however, you do decide to add a Wraithlord with EML/BL, you could add the Harlies and have a nice balance of close combat and heavy shooting.

This is assuming that you only want one Falcon, of course. Two Falcons are better than one, as they split enemy fire and cause consternation amongst your foes (and cires of cheese, too). If you do want to go the two-Falcon route, skip the Wraithlord for now and add more troops as your next priority after the Falcons/Harlies/Dragons. Three skimmer tanks will give many opponents headaches. If only two of those are Falcons, they're also not over the cheese line. 3 is admittedly a bit much though.

Speaking of anti-tank, I also forgot to mention that adding Intercept to your Hawks is a good idea, especially if you're already paying for the Exarch. Some will say it's a poor use of their skills, but when a vehicle is being a real pain in the donkey and you're not otherwise cracking it, it's a godsend. For 5 points over what you're already spending on the Exarch, it really shouldn't be left out. If you're short on points, Intercept and the Hawk's Talon are a better value than the sunrifle against anything but Guard and 'Nid gaunts.

EML/BL on the Wraithlord is better because you already have a fair number of multi-shot S6 weapons, but lack heavy anti-armor firepower. Also, the Wraithlord's BS4 makes single-shot weapons a better value on him than elsewhere. Trust me, you will be happy you took this if you ever face lots of Leman Russes. Especially in 5th edition.

Finally, I really do think another unit of 3 jetbikes (including cannon) is good with your next expansion. You have a decent foot firebase already, and you should strengthen your mobile anti-infantry fire. And it's another shuricannon for 76 points, which is always good. You already have 2 more, so a single ebay purchase and some leftover shuricannon bitz should do 'er fine, right?

Savnock to the rescue!
Thanks a lot again.

I think Ill go with the Fire Dragons in the Falcon (w/ scatter laser) and see if I can still squeeze in another 3 jetbikes points-wise.
If Im going tank hunting the Firepike would be a better buy no doubt, but Im going to be fighting orks with this army (not soley, but I think my friend and I are
thinking of starting some kind of biel-tan/ork campaign. Tank Hunters with the DB Flamer wouldnt be too bad, but crack shot would ensure more dead orks in a pile.
Though it might be a waste sending such great AP weapons after ork mobs, and save that for the multishot weapons and such.
I just actually totalled up a 6 man Dragon squad, Exarch w/firepike, tank hunters in a Falcon w/ scatter laser, shuriken cannon and vectored engines and that came
to about 391pts, so that might need to be tweaked to hit the 1000pt mark.
I definetly appreciate the advice!

Thanks-

Honsetly, the Firepike is rarely necessary with 6 meltas in the unit already. If you do go for an exarch, do it for the flamer to make them slightly more multi-purpose (and better vs. Orks period). Personally, I just skip the exarch unless extra points are hanging around. Your Dragon unit will get massacred at least half the time that you use them, so cheaper is better.

And more jetbike bling is definitely worth skipping the exarch.

Awesome.
Thanks again for that, that will save a few points. I think I can swing that 6th Jetbike to be sure. So for the next step to 1k pts would be squeezing 4 more jetbikes plus
the Falcon full of Dragons into it, heh. Should be fun. The downside is that I dont get to play all that much around here, so I just spend half the time sitting and
screwing around with more and more lists. Im pretty sure that's the reason I have 4 armies and have had at one time every other army they've made in the last 10 years.
It'd be sad, if I didnt like the game that much, heh.

Anyways, if you have any other pointers for the Eldar in general, or know a link to a tactics post, that'd be great.

Thanks

Fire Prisms are useless in comparison to Falcons. With the proper upgrades they are stronger than the Fire Prisms, and can always suck up a unit that needs to move.

WRYYYYYYYYY!!!
