Hi All!,

I'm finalizing a list to get together for this years circuit and I'm wondering if anyone might have a suggestion about something in my list.

My main HTH unit is a squad of Nobs on bikes. I'm taking a unit of 8 with a warboss. Giving three of the Nobs claws and taking a Doc in the unit makes for a very nasty unit. The problem is getting them across the table. With the numbers being small, it's very easy for shooty lists to concentrate all of their fire on them and force a break test. I've since taken a Weird Boy out of the list and added the WB to boost the leadership of the unit, but I'd like a little more insurance.

I've thought about a unit of three buggies with Twin Linked rockets. The idea is to try and hide them in case 1st turn is lost and then shoot them 24" and have the bikes T.Boost behind them for cover. If the buggies can shield them on a turn they should be pretty close to getting stuck in by turn two (Hopefully!)

My question is do any of you have any other ideas on what might be a cheap effective means to get the squad into HtH before getting shot all to Hell?

Thnx,

I probably should have added that I'm making an army using units in the codex, but using converted models. I'm using the bikes, but making cyboars and using them as bikes. The buggies would be junked trucks pulled by boars as well.
I'm also converting some Hellfire Empire guns for a Loota squad and had thought about Gretchin riding squigs with wings for Storm boys, so apologies if it doesn't sound very "Snakebite" but if I were to do that I would have nothing but boys, eh?

Sorry if my post turned anyone off from adding some input, but I think it's going to look very primal when it's done.

So far I haven't taken any Heavies. The army basically consists of 3 units of shootas with Nob and claw, 6 buggies with TL rockets and then the Nob biker mob with warboss on bike. The Nob unit is AMAZING at taking fire with the 4+ and then Feel no pain. It's just getting them across the field that sucks! I've added the buggies as a mobile shield, but haven't played a game with the new list yet, so I'm not sure how it'll fare. I was hoping some other people would have some suggestions, but nothing seems to be thrown out there. I'll check out the thread you mentioned and thanks so much for the response!

First turn wall of looted waggons move up 12" followed by buggies and bikes secound turn buggies zip out from behind make a line for bikes 3rd turn bikes are in....?

I run nob warbikers in my current list and love them. They are dead hard but can be a bit vunerable to str 8 or higher weapons. They are however highly mobile so can make the best use of any available terrain. As far as the snakebite theme i would highly suggest the use of Kannon units as heavy support. Snakebites are suposed to have more grots anyway and kannon are dead shooty and surprisingly resiliant. Shots that are anti armor have a 66% of killing only a grot and anti infantry has a 33% chance of bouncing off a kannon.
