Guess I'm interested.
Might not be if the collections are ginormous though (in number, not size of model).

If it's like RAMPAGE! (The arcade game) but with a better depth and the ability to fight other monsters it could be really fun.

I'm probably going to pick up the original box set, but no boosters.

I want to like it, but it is a blind buy.

Yeah.
The plan is to blind buy and only set up house matches
where I provide the minis. Might be a nice quickie.
Er, what?

I'm looking forward to checking it out. The models look cool... I don't mind a little cartooniness. And it's giant monsters, and robots, and aliens and the like, destroying cities.
What's not to like?
Well, other than the rules... if they turn out not so good. The brief review I came across on the PP forums sounds promising, though. You get a set number of attacks each turn, which is reduced by the number of monsters you activate that turn. Brings in a whole tactical 'move or attack' layer to it. The really big monsters apparently get their own dice pool. So it sounds promising, but I guess we'll have to wait and see...
On a slightly dubious note, there are some sort of 'power dice' that you can use to power up your big gribblies... but it sounded like they would be collectible as well, which I'm not as excited about.

They're not always all that bad... Singles usually pop up online or in stores before long, so if there are models that you're particularly chasing, you can always get them sooner or later. And the more common models generally wind up dirt cheap.

'Collectible'. IMHO a bad move for PP. I don't see this having any legs. It might make a splash, but I can't see it lasting very long. I can see what they're trying to do with the giant movie monster theme, but unlike Heroclix or a Pokemon-type of deal, I can't see this grabbing any major draw outside the core market of established gamers. It's not going to draw in kids to spend money the way a pokemon style game would and it's doesn't have anywhere near the fan base of comics to attract outside money.
Now 'Infernal Contraption' is a fun little card game, and not collectible so as long as they make a profit over their development and production costs it's going to sell with their core market and through them it might spread to a non-gamer family market (I can attest to an example of this). I play IC if I just want to chill at the table with my gaming friends, but if I'm going to set up scenery and minis I'm going to play WM/Hordes, not this.

I played Heroclix and SWM. I am NOT going to play another CMG which is played on a squared paper-board with minis on weird bases. I'm sure it's fun, it's PP after all, but I'm not gonna invest in that.
well, maybe a few minis for Squigs and Chaos Spawns....

It comes with what I believe is Epic/ Battletech sized terrain too.
Fun buy if you got $60. Play it a few times, go over the rules and you get the terrain. But I wouldn't pay $100.
