I've been rocking the SM gun-line lately and it usually does really well until about turn 3 or 4 when the other person gets their dedicated assault in my face. I tried scattering some powerfists among my min/max, but it just hasn't been getting the job done. So, I've been toying around with a list that, if not super competitive, will at least be interesting to play. I hope these changes can give me a little more survivability to the assault. I figure the Powerfist and Powerweapon attacks from the Tech can hold off some foes, and the Assault Squad can help out too. I kitted out the Librarian thinking he'd be useful as counter assault too. I like having the psychic hood, so I do want to keep a librarian, but maybe I shouldn't sink so many points into him. Would I be better off dropping his familiar and Terminator Honors and getting myself another Assault Marine?

Well, not a standard list, but surely playable.
The Assault squad and Eversor are the only counter-strike units in your list.
I'd beef up the Assault squad to 8 or 10 men.

I don't know how effective it will be. The assassin is marginally viable but in 1500 points I think it will do more harm that good in your list. Also the Inquisitor is not that effective. Yes its an extra 3 S6 shots in your list but those points can be better spent elsewhere. I would suggest getting a missile dev squad and make the Tac squads all 6 man.

Is the assassin better at lower points games? Dropping the Inquisitor and The Assassin gives me enough for a 6 man Dev Squad with Missiles.

Should I go with Flamers or Plasma Pistols on the Assault Squad and would 2 6 man squads be better than the 10 man Squad?

I am very partial to flamers but at 5 points and given the lack of AP 2 weapons in your list I am thinking you might want the plasma pistols in that squad. I would go with an 8 man assault squad and give the Librarian a jump pack.

You have a solid base in your list. Its just a matter of playing around with all the possible options every where else in it.
