Here's a question for you: What exactly is the Tau's relation to the warp? Is it ever defined if they have psychic powers, or mutation due to the effects of Chaos?

The reason I ask is that I am thinking of using the Witch Hunter's adversaries rules to make a daemony Space Pope sort of fellow with maybe some cultist tau mutants for a retinue. So is it possible that a Tau fellow could just "Oops, I crapped my pants!" into the arms of Chaos, or would they need to find an artifact of some sort to bring the Chaos to them, or are they sort of like Orks and Necrons who just are not affected by the Ruinous Powers (for different reasons.)

Any thoughts?

In the tau codex it says somewhere that they seem to be unnoticed by the entitys of the warp, almost as if they do not exist in the warp - this could possible be because they have no phyic powers so heir body wont be able to substain their power??? i'm not sure why their ignored but they just are

So it isn't necessarily impossible, just that they are not naturally inclined to warp essence?

soemthing like that, if you can come up with a reasonable excuss then i dont see any problems

the Tau dex says that tau are natrully undisturd in warp travel and that they are belived immune to the effect of the warp / chaos

however i belive if they do some sort of sacrifice or other action to "honour" the lord of the warp then their nothing stopping you

in short, their no reason it count happen it just isn't the most likly of things

from one of the last chancer books i think the 2nd one ,the tau travel in the warp for short hops. and i think they were watching out some ports or view screens at some tau beacons to guide them. So i guess it doesn't affect them, with that being said you could say they are brainwashed

IIRC, in one of the BFG books, it explains that Tau ships skim a layer between the material universe and the warp proper.

Something like that,

as far as I know, they are not really interesting for the "common" deamons who try to breach into the mortal realm, but I don't see why somebody like Tzeentch wouldn't be able to manipulate them.

It's a combination of the 2, as I recall.

Their ships only skim the surface of the warp and only for short hops (as they don't have the navigator gene to look into the warp to stay there and steer the ships).

As for their suseptability to being possessed. Your guess is as good as mine. Some think Farsight is possessed by khorne (personally, I think he found an old eldar weapon). If you can justify it with your own fluff, you could model a possessed space pope to your hearts content.
