Hello all, first post here at Dakka Dakka.

-Walkrant
(239 points) Venom Cannon, Twin-linked Devourer, Enhanced Senses, Toxin Sacs, 2 Tyrant Guard

-Gunfex
(163 points) Venom Cannon, Barbed Strangler, Enhanced Senses, Reinforced Chitin
-3 Zoanthropes
(195 points) Warp Blast, Psychic Scream
This is my attempt at a list that incorporates the competitive elements of the Tyranid codex (big shooty bugs and Stealers) into something resembling a balanced force. No Dakkafexes, but I tried to get a good mix of numbers and meatiness. The Gunfexes are the obligatory antitank, with the Zoey's in there for backup. Stealers try to get into HTH ASAP, hopefully the Flyrant can tie some people up early and help in that. Raveners provide some more options for fast assault, and the Walkrant hopefully is big and scary enought to get people to shoot at it. This list is not for tournament (in the near future at least), and my group never uses escalation, so that is right out. Common armies in my group are eldar, necron, imperial guard, sm, tau and DE.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Well I always think when using stealer to if possible give em implant attack / scything talons implant attack being more important
The fact is theyre already going to hit a whole lot against any of those listed armies so why not make 1 hit= 2 wounds

Oh really well take this*sticks homemade TCCW(sharp piece of iron) through plasticard titan

I would consider the scything talons, but I am trying to keep them as cheap as possible. 4 sets of talons = another stealer, so its a trade between more attacks or another wound. The Implant Attack would only be useful against multi wound models, something I might consider against the Eldar, but it doesn't seem worth it for anyone else, considering the upgrade would likely never even be used.

Competitive list or not, extended carapace on your Stealers is a requirement. Scuttlers plus extended carapace gives your Stealers a much better chance of reaching your enemy. The more models that reach the better your chances are of acheiving your objective. Plus it sounds like your regular opponents have some AP5 weaponary which will negate your basic Stealers save.
To get the points, run five squads of eight Stealers. Those 49 extra points can get you a 3rd Tyrant Guard if need be.
Just my 2c's.

Probably because this doesn't do anything against single wound models....which is most of the game.

In general I would go with more attacks on those stealers than having the extra single wound (or 2) The goal of the list is not to take casualties with the stealers until they reach you opponent's lines at which point they should have little trouble going through their units.
I would go with EC and ST on those stealers as it will give you the most bang for your buck.

You need carapace armor on your stealers, you have no wall to hide them behind.
Raveners aren't really "good" units, they are easy to kill because they get ahead of the hive mind.
That walking tyrant and his bodyguard will be the only thing left at the end of the game...and will be avoided like the land raider style points sink he is. Either bring two, and give both a venom cannon...or don't bring bodyguards.
