Hey everyone. I'm working on my very first SM army. I tyred to stay away from then since I first started 40k, but decided to at least build a fun army with them.

I've created a fluff on a new army, it's based on the lost 2nd founding chapter mentioned by GW. I named then the "Sons of Knarl" Thier fluff is they come from a marsh planet, so they lack ground troops and heavy tanks. They use skimmers and Jump Infantry as their man units. With this in mind, here's the list

HQ
Master of Sanctity
Plasma Pistol
Master-Crafted Arcanum
Jump Pack
Terminator Honours
166pts

Master
Bolt Pistol
Power Weapon
92pts

Troop
6x Tactical Squad
Plasma Gun
Missle Launcher
110pts

Yeah, its a fun list. Don't expect too much.
Two HQs in 1500 pts is a bit much.
Give the lascannons from the Dev squad to the Tacticals and vice versa give the missile launchers from the Tacticals to the Devs.

I wont change the Lasscannons to Tactical Squads. I have 4 attacks with a powerfist from the Sergent in a assault squad, and 2 lasscannons in the Devs. I'm not too worried about anti-tank power.

Eldar skimmers are annoying no matter what you shoot at them, and Monolith, well.. Ignore that.

Main problem with all assault armies is a swarm army. Missle lauchers help out with this, as do the land speeders.

The master is only there to counter-charge a unit that ties up a tacticle squad and devastators. Plus he's 10ld and he'll help out all the marines.

Play a few games.

Let us know how it goes.

Especially vs vehicle heavy and model heavy armies.

I'm 100% sorry wuestenfux. I didn't understand what you ment at first.

Change out the Lasscannons in the Dev squad and put them in the tacticle.

Then have all missle launchers in the Dev squad. I'll do that. It'll shave a few points off the total.

Yeah, it makes more sense. If you have the lascannons in two tactical squads, you can target different units by them. Their impact is much higher than that of a missile launcher.

Also it will save you 30 points if you do it that way and those 30 points can go into beefing the master up a little more. such as giving him a fist and terminator honors or even a jump pack and melta bombs.
