Ok, so I cant help but think Im a little indecisive as far as picking a force goes....heh.....well, I guess I am...
Anyways, I was reading up on a few threads about the Lysander-Wing build for marines.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend the best way to start this out, with figure....$150(give or take 20 bucks)

That could lead to Lysander, maybe 2 boxes of Termies and 2 boxes of Scouts roughly.
I realize that in smaller games you cant really use Lysander, but I figured that you gotta start somewhere and not everyone can just up and get a full 1500+ pt army.

So, if this isnt a doable option, then Deathwing is something that Id be interested in. I currently run Orks, Tau, Eldar and Chaos, and am looking for something that isnt horde-esque
that I could spend a fair bit of time on each figure painting, posing ect...

Also, I could totally go for this whole theme in a Chaos format (any real reason to get the new termies is cool, heh) I mean, what.....2x Termie Sorcerers(or Lords), 3x Termies, maybe some 1k sons as troops......

Anyways, any feedback on any of the 3 forces would be awesome!

Thanks!

Lysander is a all-or-nothing army list. Either you win, or you don't.

Against experienced players, you'll usually just lose.

Deathwing/Ravenwing is about the same.

Running a load of Chaos terminators is IMO better, you can afford excellent support units (demon princes, devoted troops, and oblits) that make DW and Lysander players cry.

Space Marines will get a new codex.
It is questionable whether a Lysander wing can be played in the next incarnation.
Rumours say that there will be no trait system available.
Therefore, I opt for Chaos, as Stelek did:
Two HQs with lashes, 4 or 6 Obliterators, 2x10 Termies, and Noise Marines as troops.

Well I didn't want to rain on his parade with the apparent removal of the Lysander wing army type.

It's only a 500$ army. Relatively cheap, got the termie sales, time to remove! :p

Nevertheless, if you need til summer to build up the Lysander wing, then at the same time, the new SM codex will come out,
and then it might not be possible to play it.
Its risky. I'd go for Chaos because the rumours about the new SM codex say that all Marine armies will be vanilla, i.e. Ultramarines.

Whereas right now all the Chaos armies are already vanilla.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

Ok, so, if what you're saying is true, then either Imperial build isnt worth a damn, or may not be viable because of soon-to-be nonexistence.....good ol' GW.......

Anyways, I dont necessarily mind vanilla chaos, I mean, hell, I can paint it whatever I want, or do squads up as 3 different legions and say kiss mah gree-its.

Here's a shot at a ChaosWing of sorts....any Feedback is always cool and helpful!

Chaos Sorcerer: MoS, Lash of Submission, Terminator Armor: 140pts.
Chaos Sorcerer: MoS, Lash of Submission, Terminator Armor: 140pts.
Chaos Terminators: x10 w/ x3 Power Weapons, x2 Powerfists, x2 Reaper Autocannon: 370pts.
Chaos Terminators: x10 w/ x2 Power Weapons, x3 Lit. Claws, x2 Heavy Flamers: 340pts.
Thousand Sons: x9 w/ Asp. Sorcerer, Doombolt, Personal Icon, Rhino w/ havoc Launcher: 332pts.
Thousand Sons: x9 w/ Asp. Sorcerer, Doombolt, Personal Icon, Rhino w/ Havoc Launcher: 332pts.
Oblits: x2: 150pts.
Oblits: x2: 150pts.

Now, this is actually close to 2000pts, which is way freakin more than I was thinking initially, lol. I was hoping to break this down into 750pt. blocks....
I guess I can just downsize the squads of Thousand Sons, keep 1 of the HQs, try 2 smaller squads of Termies.... Im not sure, I didnt give the Termies Icons of any kind, mostly because I dont know which way to go with them.....4+ Invul is cool, but so is +1 attack and +1 Init. Id sorta like to stay away from Nurgle troops (no matter how great they are) as I have a 5000pt DeathGuard army from the last codex, and Id just like to try something new. I dont think Noise Marines are going to be too doable, as I dont have any, though I do have the 18 Thousand Sons mentioned above.

The only thing Id really need to get is the 2 Sorcerers and any new termies I wanted to upgrade to.

Any recommendations, or similar lists would be cool/helpful!!

Thanks!
