Ever do a kitbash that just made you happy?

I was looking through Dark Heresy (thx to everyone who recommended it) and saw about the 1000th picture of Eisenhorn drawing his sword while striding forward purposefully and I said 'I can do that!' So I did. And it was cool. Till I realized the katana type powersword I gave him extended half an inch below the base. Opps.

Luckly there was a handy peice of marble for him to pose on.

Not as superdeformed as I was hoping but some nice work all the same. I suppose the gigantic weapons make up for his puny little head and big body

I note the lack of helpy braces on his legs - I take it this is a younger, spritlier Greggor? Perhaps from his days as a swashbuckler?

Yeah this is young Greggor back when he was just bald but not yet screaming, plus he was a mere 28mm tall(40mm with his ever-present block of marble) compared to his 54mm.

though I realize he didn't get his staff till after he got the braces, am I a terrible geek for the fact this bothers me?

I did note that as well, but felt it was forgivable and didn't warrant taking the null rod to your simpering heretical back.

he had the staff before the braces didn't he? when his magos buddy was still alive in book two
the braces were right before the end when Fischig shot his knees out, but he already had the staff by then (sorry, goobing out)
you're still safe

Heh heh. Yes, Kid, it does make you a terrible geek. But that's okay, because you're surrounded by other terrible geeks that it bothers as well.

So, let me see if I get your parts right -
- Empire Militia Legs and Longcoat Torso
- Bald SM Head
- SM Power Sword
- Either Kroot Shoulderpads or pads cut from the middle of some SM shoulderpads
- Random skull part
- Not sure where the staff comes from
- Can't see enough detail on the scabbard to tell where it's from

I like it - although I think his sword arm should be up higher and I think it'd look sharper if he were looking up - as if addressing an enemy coming from above rather than below.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

At my Keyboard

looks like the chaos champion scabbard with the sword hilt cut off. All and all I think this is pretty damn cool. Nice job.

Nice, but what is he doing with the sword? I'm not sure why anyone would hold a sword that way.

Very well assembled! That there is some purposeful stride.

Although I am with the other folks on thinking the sword is slightly out of place and scale. Perhaps shaving it down or replacing it with a more elegant weapon (like a Banshee katana) might help bring it into line with the rest of the mini.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

that's a BIG sword he's got there. Even Eisenhorn compensates?

That's some very slick converting there Kid_Kyoto. I really like what you've done.

And I do believe he had that staff before the brace, but he wasn't this young that's for sure.. heh

Right on the nose. Kroot pads (my last pair sigh) skull from the IG winged skull icon. Chaos warrior scabbard. Staff is a cut down spear with a chaos icon on top, spikes cut off.

Like I said, I was just happy because I had all these parts handy, even had a choice of weapons, arms and such.

But does anyone know where the non-screaming bald head is from? It was in my Marine bitz box but I can't place it.

The sword arm is supposed to copy the pose of the 54mm version, a more reasonable weapon though looks weedy at 28mm. I figure he's getting ready to slash at the unwashed masses under him.

I think it's from the command squad?

Nice Eisenhorn. I instantly recognized him when I saw the picture.
