Hey all Dakkites,

I'm looking at going into the local GT when it's run this year. I'd like to get a solid list together and start play tetsting it so that I'm very familiar with how it works, its strengths and weaknesses before I have to play it competitively.

Anyway .... here's the list I'm considering. Any positive feedback / constructive criticism would be appreciated.

Etherial
Shas'el (fire kinfe)

Fire Knife x 2
Fire Knife x 2
Stealth Suits x 3

Fire Warriors x 12
+ Ui & BK
+ Dumbfish

Kroot x 10
Kroot x 10

Fusion Pirahna
Fusion Pirahna
Pathfinders x 4
+ Ui & BK
+ Dumbfish

Broadsides x 2
+ TL (w/ Target Lock)
+ Shield Drones x 2

1498 points

Tactics.....

There are 2 fire magnets .... Broadsides and Pathfinders (I like pathfinders). I'm thinking I'll deploy them together in some cover (hopefully) with some Kroot to form my "bait" - it's not much of a static firebase anymore .... but it should still do the bait job nicely. The Etherial will be attached to the Broadside squad to make them fearless.

The Piranhas do the mobile tank hunting of anything luck enough to get out of LOS of the Broadsides.

The Fire Knives hunt heavy infantry & high value targets

Fire Warriors pull FoF against suitable targets (with support from the Fire Knives & Stealths if necissary)

Kroot & Stealths infiltrate in to either bolster my lines of defense (around the bait) or to keep enemy infiltrators away from my army.

I'm not too sure what a BK is, don't have my codex handy as I'm at a friend's. Personally I love static firebases as it makes great use of the 30" the Fire Warriors get, and then if the target gets too close, jump forward and rapid fire. That's just me though, Dumbfishes might work for you.

Another thing is that if you know your Broadside will be a fire magnet, why are you putting your Ethereal in his squad?

Fire Knives are cool, I guess. I prefer Helios, but to each's own.

Not a bad list, but I don't think it'll compete that well in a GT. It'll be fun to play though, no matter which side, I'll give it that.

Heaven's not a place where you go when you die: it's that moment in life when you actually feel alive, so live for the moment.

Bk stands for bonding knife. I also agree that this list could be made more competitive to deal with the other lists you will be facing. I know most people swear by fireknives, but I find twinlinked missile pods better. Maybe try two helios and 2 fireknife for those marines.

Chowderhead - God no. If I said Pirates Honor, I would have had to kill him whether he won or lost.

Seems risky to have all of your AT firepower in one unit, but I with the shield drones and ethereal it should be fairly tough to shoot up.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

Full squads of pathfinders seem much more useful to me.
