FYI,
I have a local historicals guy, as the Perrys will no doubt fluff out their ACW range over time to allow a lot of stuff for gaming, presently there is a good range of models to supplement your ACW perry plastics if you get some using "renegade" miniatures.
They are 28mm and decent sculpts, and have a line of infantry that would complement perrtys stuff right off... including artillery and zuouve regiments for color and firepower

I'm going to buy a beer for the first guy that fields these in 40K.

man I did a civil war themed army once. I live in Virginia so keep that in mind. and the local store wouldn't let me bring it in, they said it was too controvercial. The next week I go in and this other monkey has swastikas all over his tanks. I was thinking to myself, well, I guess it's ok to put that on your tanks but not the rebel flag huh? lol silly Virginians..

I don't know much about the background but wasn't the Heresy started because half the big marine guys wanted their own little pet kingdoms and didn't like the overbearing emperor and his nation-empire? Sounds like the basis of the american civil war to me.
